Playa del Aguila
Playa del Aguila is situated between Bahia Feliz and Playa de San Agustin. The area is very upmarket and extremely popular with German holiday makers. The resort is dominated by tasteful apartments and classy hotels. There's not much of a beach here. Most holiday makers seem to be quite happy topping up their tans beside the pool or outside their villa.
The Bahia Feliz area is small, quiet and popular with the windsurfing crowd. The beach here slopes quite steeply and is not suitable for young children, due to the strong tides. There is a windsurfing club close by, called Club Mistral. It is situated a little further east along the coast, at Playa de Tarajillo.
At Bahia Feliz, there is a pleasant, quiet "Canarian Village" bazaar with small shops, bars, cafes and restaurants, but don't go here if you are looking for a party atmosphere and lively nightlife. If that's what you're after, try Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas, both of which are a short cab ride down the road.
San Agustin, to the west of Playa Aguila, is a big, posh resort, again popular with German holiday makers. There is a long, black, sandy coastline with plenty of restaurants and bars along the beach and a large commercial center to the south. San Agustin has a sea-front promenade running the 7 or 8 kilometers of its length.
