This little town hasn't got a huge amount to offer the tourist, I'm afraid. The drive here from the south coast was … interesting. If very steep, winding roads interest you, that is. Puerto de la Aldea This little town hasn't got a huge amount to offer the tourist, I'm afraid. The drive here from the south coast was … interesting. If very steep, winding roads interest you, that is. The area behind the beach is particularly fertile. Acres of tomatoes and bananas grow here, hidden by huge plastic sheets. The beach is stony and not particularly attractive, although the views along the coats are beautiful. The sea front is backed by a small wood, with picnic tables scattered amongst the trees, presumably used by the locals at the weekends. There are one or two cafes and a couple of small shops, but little else. (We had probably the best coffee on the island at the cheapest price here too!)
