This fantastic shot gives a great idea of the spectacular view you can enjoy from just outside the Cuatro Puertas Caves. Despite not being a huge mountain, with just a little elevation you can see for miles along the coast and even watch aeroplanes coming into land at the airport.
The nearest large town to the caves is Telde, around a 15 minute drive away. It is certainly worth exploring the entire east coast area as it is generally much quieter than the north and south coasts and you may even find a few deserted beaches to enjoy. The caves certainly give a good idea of what this land was like before it became such a tourist hotspot.
