About a 30 minute drive north of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles is the popular village of Fataga.
This small village is a very popular destination for day trips from the south coast as it is set in very picturesque surroundings and has a number of very attractive buildings such as the Fataga Church. The church was built in 1880 and dedicated to St. JosŽ.
The village itself is in the Barranco de Fataga - ÒValley of the Thousand PalmsÓ and there are many fruit groves around growing lemons, oranges, apricots and grapes. With a permanent population of only around 400 people, this is a great opportunity to see an authentic village of Gran Canaria, with over 2000 years of history.
