Guide and Virtual Tour of Gran Canaria: Firgas waterfall.
Panorama | Review | Map
This is an incredibly picturesque and quaint landmark of northern Gran Canaria. This beautiful urban waterfall is located in the town of Firgas, about a 20 minute drive from the beaches of the north. The waterfall is around 30m long and is decorated on one side by mosaics and artwork detailing all of the Canary Islands.
There is also a long chain of beautifully decorated benches; this must be one of the most beautiful spots in all of Gran Canaria and is certainly hugely popular with tourists. Firgas itself makes for a lovely day trip if you are staying in the north of the island. This is not a large town, but it is very well kept and there are lots of beautiful decorations and buildings to enjoy.
You may notice that bottled water available in Gran Canaria also bears the name 'Firgas' - as this town is where the water originates and is bottled - another reason for the number of water features you will see here, as the town celebrates its good fortune - built on H2O!
