What a spectacular shot this is! For those who enjoy the mountains as much as they do the beach, Pico de las Nieves is a must-see destination.
This is actually the highest peak on Gran Canaria and stands at just under 2000m above sea level. As you can see, on certain days you will be sharing the mountaintop with the clouds as well as the native Canary Island Pine Trees.
The views from the peak are quite striking and if you feel like having a more active day than usual during a holiday, a hike along the mountain paths is a lot of fun. Don't forget your camera and be sure to take a few snaps from the top. But be warned - the cloud you see coming over the tops in our panorama enveloped us a few minutes later, and it was like being at home on a damp cold foggey day!
