About 10 minutes by car away from Playa del Ingles is the beautiful resort of Playa del Aguila.
The seafront here is typically rocky rather than sandy, but still a stunning spectacle and very enjoyable to stroll along. This is an ideal spot for watching the sunset with a glass of Spanish wine and some tapas perhaps.
There are also a number of fine hotels on this stretch of Gran Canaria's south coast and because it does not have a beach so suitable for sunbathing, Playa del Aguila is quite a bit more quiet than the larger resorts. Even if you are not staying here, it is certainly an area worth exploring during the daytime or evening.
