Chapter 304 Patient
Chapter 304 Patient
Mu Qukong shook his head and said to Yu seriously: "Don't tease her, she is quite serious."
In front of Mu Qukong, Yu did not dare to indulge himself. He nodded and put away his smile.
"I understand, Uncle Kong."
The two were silent for a moment, and Uncle Kong's lips moved slightly, and he asked in a very low voice.
"What's going on in the woods?"
Yu's expression turned serious. "Some changes, but not much."
……
Mu Qiuhe returned to the room and sat in front of the wooden table, leaning his arms on the table, supporting his chin, and looking at the scenery outside the window boredly.
As the night deepens, the stars begin to peek out from the sky and continue to shine brightly in the sky.
"When will days like this end?"
Mu Qiuhe looked up at the sky, trying to find the familiar face among the stars.
In her early years, her father told her that her mother had not left, but had turned into stars in the distant sky, watching over her.
As she grew older, she no longer believed this statement. When a person dies, he is dead. How could he turn into stars?
When my father said that, he was just deceiving himself and giving himself some hope.
Since coming here, they have never left, and they don’t know what magic this place has that makes their father settle here.
In a small village, there is nothing, and there are no friends of the same age as herself. This makes Mu Qiuhe, who is already full of energy, have no place to vent. No matter what she does, she is alone, and sometimes she even feels a little lonely.
Mu Qiuhe lowered her eyes and through the window, she could just see her father, who had just finished talking with Yu, at the gate of the fence.
She pouted, looking a little unhappy, "You won't say that to me again, will you?"
His father's figure gradually approached. Perhaps thinking that his guess was correct again, Mu Qiuhe simply lay down on the table and began to pretend to be dead.
Her father did not stop in front of her window, but pushed open the wooden door and walked in. His gentle voice came into Mu Qiuhe's ears through the crack of the door.
"Do you want to come and see how he's doing?"
After hearing her father's words, Mu Qiuhe seemed to have thought of something. She suddenly became alert and stood up immediately.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot about him!"
Mu Qiuhe responded outside: "I'm coming, I'll be there soon."
Mu Qiuhe quickly opened the wooden door, walked through the not-so-big living room, and entered a house.
The room was dimly lit. There was only one candle burning close to the wall. The dim light could barely illuminate the pale face on the bed.
Mu Qukong, dressed in white, was sitting on a chair next to the bed. He pulled the patient's hand out of the quilt, placed his fingers on the patient's wrist, and listened carefully to his pulse.
Looking at his father who was giving the diagnosis, Mu Qiuhe leaned against the wall and looked sideways at the patient on the bed.
His face was as pale as a piece of white paper, so pale that it was a little scary. He had a handsome face and seemed to be about the same age as him. However, his eyes were always closed and his brows were always furrowed, as if he was still conscious and feeling some kind of pain.
After a moment, Mu Qukong took his hand away. His expression did not change, he just sighed softly. He turned his head to look at his daughter who was observing and asked her softly.
"Did you observe anything?"
Mu Qiuhe was stunned for a moment when she heard her father's question, then she shook her head.
"I didn't observe anything."
Mu Qukong stood up, walked to her, bent his fingers and gently tapped her forehead.
"You didn't observe anything. You still hope to be a doctor, but why are you so lazy?"
After hearing his father's words, Mu Qiuhe realized what his father was asking.
She raised her hands, covered her forehead, and screamed in pain a few times, trying to get away with it.
Mu Qukong clearly knew his daughter well and was confident in his ability to control her strength. He chuckled and asked, "Would you like me to take her pulse, too?" Knowing she'd gotten away with it, Mu Qiuhe chuckled, nodded, and said excitedly, "Of course!"
Mu Qiuhe sat on the stool and looked at the bloodless arm that was almost skin and bones. She placed her fair palm gently on it.
Although Mu Qiuhe had studied for a long time, he had no special feeling for taking the pulse. He couldn't find the pulse accurately even after several attempts. When he finally did find it, he only felt that the pulse was weak and couldn't sense any other conditions.
After a moment, Mu Qiuhe stood up, shaking her head, as if she was about to cry. She ran to her father's arms and said in a choked voice, "Dad, I can't figure it out. I'm too stupid."
As soon as Mu Qiuhe started crying, Mu Qukong became flustered, but before Mu Qukong could start to comfort her, Mu Qiuhe walked out of his arms. She didn't shed any tears, all she had was a smile after her prank was successful.
"Hey, I was just kidding."
Looking at his daughter's lively appearance, Mu Qukong raised his palm, bent it, and gently tapped her on the head. Seeing her father's counterattack, Mu Qiuhe closed her eyes, but in the end, the tap did not fall on her head.
Unable to feel the slight pain on her forehead, Mu Qiuhe slowly opened her eyes, looked at her smiling father, and immediately threw herself into his arms and hugged him.
"However, I didn't feel any other sensations from my pulse. This is true."
Mu Qukong gently stroked her hair as he did when they were children, and took the initiative to defend her.
"It's normal. His pulse is weak to begin with. Besides, you haven't diagnosed any patients since you were a child, and there aren't many people here for you to practice with. Your current level is quite good."
"Besides, this kid's situation is extremely strange."
"Logically, he should have woken up long ago, but for some reason, he's still sleeping."
Mu Qiuhe in Mu Qukong's arms nodded.
"I think so too. His brows are always furrowed, revealing a look of deep resentment and anguish. It always gives me the feeling that he seems to be conscious but can't wake up, and is in pain."
"Ah."
Mu Qukong responded, frowning slightly, as if he had thought of something.
After a moment, he shook his head and pushed his daughter away from him.
"Okay, I'm going to go cook. Since the child is healthy, I'll leave the rest to you. After all, you were the one who found him."
"Who knows, he might be like a newborn duckling, demanding to be recognized as his own the first time he sees someone. I think this kid is pretty good-looking, just a little thin. Didn't Yu say you wanted to find a son-in-law for me? Here's one ready-made one."
Mu Qiuhe, who was still smiling, suddenly froze. She looked at her father in disbelief. Mu Qukong still had a serious expression as usual, and his tone and words were exactly the same as hers.
Mu Qiuhe's face flushed slightly, not knowing whether she was angry or shy. Her voice became louder, "Dad~! Why are you like this!"
