Chapter 658: The Stacey or Lorelie way
Chapter 658: The Stacey or Lorelie way
“Damn that Rowena,” Revi cursed as she sat on a large sofa wearing only a known universe version of a nightie.
“It’s your own fault for not acting,” Elemence replied as she sat opposite her on another sofa, wearing a similar nightie.
“What do you expect me to do? Force myself on him?” Revi snapped before she took a sip of the drink that was in her glass.
“Maybe so, I mean, he does have three lovers already,” Elemence replied before adding, “While I think Rowena’s actions tonight of dragging him to her bedroom were for her own benefit, I also believe she was letting you know something.”
“What something?” Elemence asked.
“That if you want, Adam, you're going to have to fight for it and make the first move,” Elemence replied before continuing. “He’s not like all those male and female suitors you've had over the years who made the first move. He already has three women satisfying his needs.”
“Are you saying he doesn’t want me?” Revi asked meekly with a look of despair. She had, after all, been waiting for him for over two thousand years.
“No, if he didn’t want you, he would have made that clear when we all teased you about having feelings for him,” Elemence replied. “Instead, I think it’s inexperienced on his part.”
“Inexperience?” Revi asked in confusion before adding, “But you said it yourself, he already has three lovers.”
“True, but from what you and the others have told me, Rowena, being the latest to join, is only his fourth girlfriend,” Elemence began to explain. “His first was Jenny, who he believed was out of his league. This leads me to think that she was the one who made the first move, which allowed them to start dating.
Then there is Stacey, who, according to Lroelie, was the one who made the first move. Lorelie is probably the only one of his girlfriends, present and past, who happened naturally, since the only thing Lorelie did was ask him out on a date, after which everything just kind of progressed.
Rowena’s situation, however, is a mystery. I still can’t figure out how she got into a relationship with her own granddaughter's lover and why they're both okay with it, though with Rowena’s personality and her having had seven husbands, I wouldn’t be surprised if she made the first move.”
Elemence stopped at this point to take a drink from her own glass before looking at Revi and asking, “Do you see the pattern?”
“In each situation, it was the woman who made the first move on Adam,” Revi replied.
“Exactly,” Elemence replied while smiling.
“How on Fenix Nest am I supposed to do that? I have no experience making the first move,” Revi asked before saying, “Even if we're not talking about relationships, it's always people who come to me wanting something, not the other way around.”
“Well, it seems you have two choices, the Stacey way, or the Lorelie way,” Elemence replied.
“Huh?” Revi asked in confusion, causing Elemence to sigh before she explained.
“The Stacey way is to get Adam alone and force yourself on him, thus forcing something to happen between you two; however, this way is a dangerous gamble.
The Lorelie way, which I recommend you take, is to ask Adam out on a date like Lorelie did and let nature take its course. If he’s really into you like I suspect, then he wont resist when something does happen between you two.”
“Okay, but why do you think the Stacey way is dangerous?” Revi asked.
“Because it could easily be seen as you trying to make him cheat on his other lovers, which is a definite no-no if I’m reading Adam correctly,” Elemence began to answer. “It worked for Stacey because, at the time, Adam was single and so he wouldn’t be cheating on anyone. This time, however, it could easily be seen as cheating on Stacey, Lorelie and Rowena.”
Revi nodded in understanding before saying, “I had originally planned to have him take me out on a date when we got to Aqua Primus.”
“How did you plan to have him take you out?” Elemence asked curiously.
“He owes me a favour and I planned to cash it in,” Revi explained.
“Then it’s simple, just do that,” Elemece replied while smiling before adding, “Now you just need to decide when you want him to take you out. Here on Fenix Nest, if you can’t wait, though, that will allow people to see you both, causing rumours to spread, or Aqua Primus like you originally planned, though that would mean waiting a few more days.”
“Well, it’s not like people won’t find out eventually,” Revi replied.
“True, as Empress, you can date for a while, but you will eventually be expected to marry and bear children after all,” Elemence replied before asking, “But do you really want to bring Adam trouble so quickly?”
“You're talking about that bastard who can’t take no for an answer, Narven?” Revi replied, causing Elemence to nod in confirmation.
“I would rather avoid bringing any trouble to him,” Revi said with a sigh before adding with a chuckle, “Unfortunately, it seems that trouble will be unavoidable for those lucky enough to date an empress.”
Milky Way Galaxy, Earth.
“Ugh, this was supposed to be our weekend off. Why are we stuck doing this last-minute performance?” Billie complained from one of the seats in the limo that Triple Trouble was riding in.
“Wasn’t Emily Daniels supposed to be performing at this celebration?” Jeanie asked while looking at the only man in the back of the limo with them.
“That’s correct; however, she apparently accepted James Fleming’s invitation to be his date and so they had to find a replacement,” Ji-ho Pak, Triple Troubles manager, replied without looking up from his phone.
“So being one of the dates of one Flemming family gets her out of performing?” Billie grumbled.
“She’s using this opportunity to build connections with one of the nine families, something you all should consider doing after your performance,” Ji-ho said as he looked up at Billie.
“Pft, it’s not like they're the most powerful people on the planet anymore,” Billie scoffed.
“Unfortunately, they kind of are since Mr Spencer is still off-world,” Millie replied.
“You're still going on about that rubbish?” Ji-ho frowned before turning to Joanne McClain, who had been quiet so far and asked in annoyance, “You were only hired to be their bodyguard for one show, and while your contract has been extended for the entire length of their tour in the Northern Continent, I ask that you stop filling their heads with this rubbish and getting them addicted to some stupid stream?”
Joanne, who had been looking out the limo’s window, turned and glanced at Ji-ho before ignoring him and turning back to look out the window again, causing Triple Trouble to smirk at one another.
Ji-ho bit his inner gum in annoyance before saying, “I asked you a question, bodyguard.”
Joanne didn’t respond, causing Triple Trouble to giggle before Millie said, “Leave it, Ji-ho, we got permission from the CEO to extend Joanne’s contract.”
“That’s another matter I wanted to discuss with you all,” Ji-ho said with a frown before asking, “Why did you go over my head and directly speak to the CEO about her continued employment when I already said no to it?”
“Because you said no,” Jeanie retorted before continuing, “We did our own little background check on Joanne after you refused our request to prolong her contract past that one concert. Guess what we learned?
We learned that Joanna here was one of the best and most respected bodyguards before she switched careers. Fortunately, she was recommended to you at the last minute when one of our previous bodyguards pulled out a few hours before the show and the CEO agreed to pay her price.
When we informed the CEO Kim of her history as a bodyguard, which even includes protecting several heads of the five families, they readily agreed to our request of keeping Joanne on while we are here in the Northern Continent.”
“To put it simply, Manager Pak, we have more influence with CEO Kim than you do, so if you don’t want to lose your position as our manager, I suggest you just do your job as the good little manager you are and nothing else,” Billie said in a condescending tone.
Upon hearing their words, Joanne couldn’t help but look at the three members of Triple Trouble with an appreciative glance and a modicum of respect.
The fact that they were willing to speak to their manager like that made it evident that they understood their position and worth to SKK, the entertainment company they were signed with and weren't afraid to flaunt it when necessary.
Ji-ho Pak didn’t respond and simply bit the inside of his gum again as the three members of Triple Trouble ignored him and started to discuss their upcoming performance.
What they didn’t notice, but Joanne did, was how the man's eyes turned lustful when he saw they were no longer paying attention to him.
