Demon Lord 3

What was left behind in Chapter 1945?

What was left behind in Chapter 1945?

We've been getting together and watching quite a few movies lately. When we go out, we usually book an entire theater. The film industry is different now than before. These theaters are almost all private, sometimes even empty, only open to a select few. The environment is great, it's free, and there's nothing to worry about. I understand, this is our company's own business, and we'll be doing a lot of things on our own turf. The way we make money is very different now. People won't be as obsessed with money as they were when we left. The movie we watched today is about time and money, and I sighed. I understand; I can't help but sigh whenever I see this kind of subject matter. These things are unavoidable. For us, there are good and bad aspects. The bad is that if everyone becomes rich, who will be the workforce in this world? Now the problem is solved: robots are for enjoying life, while machines are for working. 100 years ago, people traded health for money, but now people use machines to trade for money, and money to trade for health. Only when both body and mind are healthy can one be considered truly healthy. After watching this movie, I was amazed that it was made 20 years ago, when we were just entering the era of full-scale technological informatization. At that time, almost everything about the future was just a prediction. I never imagined that things would develop so quickly. In just 20 years, we have reached a point that we dare not even dream of. After watching the film, I smiled helplessly. The content was too real. The predictions and imaginations of that time coincided with the life of the future. Humanity has truly achieved control over its own life. The saying "My fate is in my own hands, not in the hands of heaven" has truly come true, spanning 5000 years, or even earlier. Humanity was virtually powerless to control this world or the heavens, and utterly helpless against the devastation of nature. Now, things are different. We can control ourselves, influence parts of the world's changes, and even subtly influence nature. Sometimes, human development may simply be about conquering, developing, and controlling a place. This is human greed, ingrained and unchangeable. Looking around, everything seems similar to what's depicted in the film. Perhaps the film is too fantastical; if it can't be achieved in 20 years, then 25, 30, or even more years will suffice. After all, the average human lifespan is increasing... Having said all that, everyone has the chance to witness that day firsthand. The wealthier, however, are even more anxious. They know that everyone gaining immortality isn't necessarily a good thing. No one can say for sure how many days this Earth will last. Therefore, to go further, to fulfill all their greed, they must reach the very top. But speaking of greed, every human being possesses it. Even the Dark Emperor, in his youth, saw his greed index soar, wanting to control the entire world. Even after entering the Dark Realm, the world's top figures, standing at the highest peak, couldn't control their power, nor could they use it to do what truly needed to be done. Greed still governs everything, governs the human heart. The Dark Emperor may not be the end, and I don't know if humanity's end is truly greed. But currently, it seems there isn't a single human being without greed. What will we leave behind on the day we truly gain immortality? I think what we'll leave behind won't be our physical bodies, nor our unique souls, but rather an infinitely replaceable body and an infinitely replicated soul. But will these things truly be of any use to us? The desire for immortality is itself a manifestation of greed, regardless of the reason or the person for it. It is greed, and when that day comes, none of us can resist it. Perhaps all of this is real, truly existing, and we cannot avoid it, so we must face it head-on. If anything is left for us, perhaps everything we leave behind will be useful and precious. Our bodies can be replaced indefinitely, our souls can be replicated, and our memories can be preserved. These are not what we truly leave behind, but rather what we can easily carry. Perhaps what we truly leave behind is the imprint of our existence. Powerful figures who have passed away have already achieved immortality because the imprints they left behind are enough for us to learn from for a lifetime.
