Chapter 292 Sweep
Chapter 292 Sweep
After this game, it was widely predicted that the series was no longer in doubt. The Nets had very little room for adjustment; Jack couldn't possibly play any better, and Deron Williams was no longer a reliable option.
Game 3 of the series will be held at the Barclays Center, the Nets' home arena, and for the Nets, it's a do-or-die situation.
Those familiar with the game know that they actually have no ability to fight with their backs against the wall, and the outcome of the series is already quite obvious.
Jia Fei has returned to New York, to the Barclays Center. However, this time he's not there for the All-Star Game, but for the playoffs.
Game 3 of the Hawks vs. Nets series at Barclays Center.
Despite trailing 0-2 in the series, the Nets did not change their lineup and continued to use the starting lineup from Game 2.
As the Nets' head coach, Coach Hollins has run out of tricks up his sleeve. The core players can't carry the team (I'm talking about Deron Williams), and no matter how many tricks the role players pull off, it's useless.
The Hawks have a well-balanced offense and defense, and a stable offensive and defensive system. With superstars and excellent supporting players, this team is very consistent. To beat a team like this, you either need a better star or a superior offense and defense, which the Nets clearly lack.
But the Nets fought tooth and nail in this game. Because if they didn't, the series would truly be over.
But reality is cruel. Even though the Nets tried their best, the huge gap in strength made it impossible for them to overcome the chasm.
After holding on for more than three quarters, they finally succumbed in the final stages of the fourth quarter, handing the victory to their opponents.
3-0! The Hawks have one foot in the semifinals! Playing the first round with such dominance, giving their opponents no chance to upset the eighth seed, this team, which was not favored to break through in the East, is proving those predictions wrong with their performance.
On April 28, Game 4 of the Hawks vs. Nets series continued at the Nets' home arena, Barclays Center.
The Nets have no chance of winning the series anymore, and their biggest wish now is probably to win a game and avoid being swept by their opponents.
But winning a game is easier said than done!
Jia Fei scored 30 points in this game, helping his team narrowly defeat the Nets and sweep their opponents 4-0 to advance to the semifinals!
The Hawks have become the first team in the league to advance to the semifinals! Their next opponent will be the winner between the Raptors and the Wizards!
Surprisingly, in the first round of the Eastern Conference, not only did the Hawks sweep their opponents, but in the other three matchups, the Cavaliers swept the Celtics, the Wizards swept the Raptors, and only the Bucks and Bulls did not see a sweep.
As a championship favorite, the Cavaliers, known for their fast-paced playoffs, would likely go all out, making a sweep of the Celtics, who lack superstars, seem reasonable. However, the Wizards' sweep of the Raptors was somewhat surprising. Before this series, many experts predicted the Raptors would advance.
But sometimes that's just how it is. Predictions only look at the strength on paper, while the playoffs are all about matchups. If the positions don't match, it's easy to get blown out.
As a result, the Hawks will face the Wizards in the second round. These two teams are quite old rivals; the scene of Jia Fei and Bao Pi Beal exchanging trash talk during their last meeting is still fresh in everyone's mind.
This matchup is clearly much more exciting than Hawks vs. Raptors. The league doesn't mind if you're aggressive; what it fears is if you're too conventional, lacking in drama and buzz—that's the most dangerous thing.
Game 1 of the series between the Hawks and the Wizards will be held on May 1 at the Hawks' home arena, Philips Arena.
Both sides have begun active preparations, which are destined to be a series full of sparks.
Media reporters were also making the time to conduct interviews. When a reporter asked Jia Fei what he thought about the series against the Wizards, he seemed very calm: "I don't care who the opponent is, I only care about whether I can perform at my best."
"Do you look down on the Wizards as a rival? Do you have any grudges against Paul Pierce and the others?" The reporter, sensing the potential for big news, quickly pressed for answers.
Jia Fei replied seriously, "I respect every opponent, and I have no personal grudges against them. If they criticize me, I will criticize them back, that's all."
Reporters also interviewed the Wizards, and Beal stated in an interview that he would teach Jia Fei and his teammates a lesson. Bao Pi, in an interview, seriously stated that the playoffs are a stage for superstars, and Jia Fei is not yet a superstar.
The Hawks are actively preparing for their series against the Wizards.
Coach Budenholzer isn't afraid of the Wizards. The two teams have faced each other many times in the regular season and are very familiar with each other. The Wizards do have twin towers in the paint, but their spacing is very poor. The Hawks lack height in the paint, but they fear big men like O'Neal and Duncan, not players like Gortat and Nene.
Time flies, and it's already May 1st. The Hawks vs. Wizards semifinal Game 1 is about to begin.
Tickets for the Philips Arena are extremely difficult to obtain...
Hawks home fans are eager to see Jia Fei lead his team to a crushing defeat of the despicable Wizards on their home turf.
This game was broadcast live on TNT, and the commentators were former NBA superstar Charles Barkley and his partner Kenny Smith.
Both teams were still practicing when the pair began warming up for the match.
"Kenny, the semifinals have started. Predict the final score of this series!" Barkley posed the question.
After thinking for a moment, Kenny Smith replied, "I personally think there's a high probability of a 4-2 score, with the Hawks winning."
Barkley shook his head: "I think the final score could be 4-2, but I think the Wizards will win."
“What’s the reason?” Kenny Smith asked.
"The Wizards have better interior height, and Paul Pierce will show the energy he had when he faced off against LeBron in the playoffs!" Barkley gave his reasoning.
"Then who can restrain Jia Fei?" Kenny Smith questioned.
“Jia Fei doesn’t need to be deliberately restricted. Just contain Al and other players. He can’t win the game by himself!” Barkley answered decisively.
The atmosphere at the stadium was excellent, and the Hawks players all wore relaxed expressions. This confidence gave them a significant psychological advantage against the Wizards.
The Wizards players had varying expressions. Beal seemed somewhat unconvinced, Bao Pi appeared indifferent, while Wall kept smiling.
Kemba Walker and his new girlfriend were still there to cheer on Jia Fei and his teammates. He wore a trendy outfit similar to Westbrook's tonight, showing that he was keeping up with the latest fashion trends.
Westbrook might seem a bit sluggish on the court, but off the court, he's a total trendsetter. His teammate Durant can't even come close in that regard.
A man who likes to wear white stockings and green hats has such bad taste that even a god couldn't save him, let alone a tortoise.
