Chapter 430 A Colossal Behemoth

Chapter 430 A Colossal Behemoth

In his terror, he thought that if he suddenly crashed into something, like a hard rock or a sheer cliff, he would surely die. But knowing this, he was powerless to control his body and could only sigh and resign himself to fate. At that moment, Fenrit and the others probably thought the same thing!

Fortunately, the imagined sheer cliffs and solid rock did not appear. However, while they were spared the death penalty, they could not escape punishment. What blocked their path were enormous numbers of rocks.

With the towering tree blocking their path, the four of them had no choice but to cover their heads and shrink back, crashing headfirst into it.

"boom!"

Wood chips flew everywhere, and sparks danced in the air. The four men shuddered violently and coughed up a mouthful of blood.

Fortunately, King Osiriar taught them the skill of magical copying, and with their own defensive spells, they managed to block and mitigate some of the force of the impact; otherwise, they would have been dead!

Even so, they were not in good condition. The four of them slid helplessly down the tree trunk and landed with a thud, all of them unconscious.

Needless to say, the external force that saved their lives was precisely what Chao Bufan unleashed in his moment of desperation. Just as he stepped in to save Bridal and the others, amidst the deafening roar, he felt as if his entire body was being squeezed by immense force, almost to the point of splitting apart. Suddenly, he caught sight of a white shadow flashing amidst the crashing waves, and the enormous white serpentine tail of a colossal creature swept towards them like a mountain.

Wherever the serpent's tail passed, water sprayed and surged, its momentum overwhelming and unstoppable. In this life-or-death moment, Chao Bufan disregarded everything else, reaching out to grasp Potian, his inner energy surging forth and pouring into it. Amidst the spray, white light reappeared. Chao Bufan quickly retreated, simultaneously leaping into the sky, raising Potian high, and with a roar, fiercely slashed down at the giant tail from afar.

As the Sky-Piercing Slash descended from the sky, a white streak flashed out from it, growing dozens of times larger in an instant. Then, like a bright, giant crescent moon, it swiftly cut through the massive tail that was sweeping across the sky.

"Roar--"

A heart-wrenching roar erupted from the colossal creature's jaws, followed by a deafening boom. The water curtain, its power exhausted, collapsed, sending countless waves crashing down. Within the spray, a large patch of water, still tinged with red, was clearly visible.

Before long, a strong smell of blood filled the humid air.

The colossal creature let out a deafening roar, then its massive body rapidly shrank, stopping only when it was over three zhang (approximately 10 meters) in size. It remained coiled on the water's surface, its lower body still coiled, but the water around it was now stained crimson with blood. It glanced back at its blood-soaked tail, muttering something incoherently, and instantly its injured tail healed completely. Then, it turned to look at Chao Bufan in mid-air, its expression unreadable, before diving deep into the water and disappearing from sight.

After a short while, the lake returned to calm.

In mid-air, Chao Bufan was on high alert when he suddenly saw the enormous creature's body rapidly shrinking. He then saw it use healing magic to treat his injuries. He expected it to attack again, but instead, it merely glanced at him before diving into the water and disappearing. He frowned, wondering to himself, "Is it preparing some powerful attack? Or has it surrendered?"

If the enemy doesn't move, I won't move either. He stopped in mid-air, his eyes fixed on the lake below. He waited for several minutes, but there was no change in the lake or any danger signals. Only then did he feel relieved and floated down to the ground.

He remained vigilantly focused on the lake, utterly perplexed. What was going on? Could that enormous creature be "it"? Why did it leave without a sound? Or did it give up in the face of difficulty?

Just then, Bridal and the others woke up and came to Super Extraordinary's side. However, at this moment, all four of them looked extremely pale, as if they had just recovered from a serious illness. Not only that, but each of them felt as if their bodies were falling apart, with indescribable pain. Fortunately, they all knew a little healing magic, which made them feel a little better.

“Extraordinary,” Bridal said weakly, each word seeming to come out with all his might, “And the monster? Is it dead?”

Chao Bufan's expression was unusually solemn. He shook his head and then said, "It's gone."

"Gone?" Fenrit asked in surprise.

"Hmm." Chao Bufan responded with an "Hmm," and then asked, "Are you all alright?"

“I won’t die,” Bridal said with a wry smile.

"What exactly is that monster, and how is it so powerful?" Dosru's scalp tingled at the thought of that enormous creature. "Luckily, some unknown power saved my life; otherwise, I probably would have been dead long ago."

Fenritsu: "I thought I was the only one with this. Turns out you have it too."

“Not only you guys, that force saved my life too,” Curry said.

Bridal looked at Super Extraordinary and asked, "Super Extraordinary, you saved us, right?"

Chao Bufan nodded, acknowledging the situation, and after a moment said, "This place is not safe to stay any longer. We'd better leave quickly, lest that behemoth reappear."

The group piloted their respective aircraft, carefully crossing the lake, and soon appeared at the edge of the Magic Forest, at the same entrance.

Everyone turned to look at the vanished entrance, but now, their faces no longer showed any gloom; they seemed indifferent, as if nothing had happened.

"Everyone has had a great trip, it wasn't a wasted trip after all," said Bridal, looking like he still wanted to explore more. "Anyway, there are still a few days before the competition, would you like to visit some other places? I guarantee you'll be satisfied."

Bridal's words immediately piqued Fenritt and the others' interest. Curry asked, "Where?"

Bridal chuckled and said, "You guys decide first whether you're going or not?"

“Tell me where it is first. If there’s no danger, I might consider it,” Fenrit said.

“Exactly,” Dosru said, “I don’t want to end up like before, almost dying!”

“Look at your pathetic self,” Bridal said coldly. “Since they are testing us, why would they want to take our lives?”

"Don't talk like that, it's easy for you to say that when you're not the one suffering the consequences!" Fenrit scolded. "Think about it yourself, if it weren't for the extraordinary rescue in time, do you think you'd still be standing here spouting such nonsense?"
