Chapter 60 Enlightenment through the Demacia Cup
Chapter 60 Enlightenment through the Demacia Cup
"Is he IG's new AD carry?"
Daeny nodded, surprised that Mu Chun had attracted the attention of the LKC teams so quickly.
"He's become very famous in the Korean server recently. You probably don't get to see him much in the LPL. He's practically universally disliked. You'll lose if you're matched with him," Kim continued.
Daeny was speechless. Did she really want to become famous in this way?
"If he doesn't listen, the simplest thing to do is to demote him to the second-tier league and let him play there for half a year, then he'll listen."
"But LPL probably won't do that, right?" Kim asked.
After thinking for a moment, Daeny nodded. It seemed to be true. Mu Chun had just made a name for himself, and unless he could buy a better one, it was impossible for him to be demoted.
Kim nodded. "When I was coaching IG, their players were all very aggressive."
"Especially TheShy, but he doesn't listen."
"The new player is probably similar; very aggressive, but disobedient," he speculated.
Daeny agreed, saying, "He is indeed very aggressive and has a lot of ideas."
Kim nodded in understanding, "Those are indeed very troublesome players. I was lucky back then, IG had two top laners to rotate."
"Therefore, I can be ruthless and bench TheShy when he misbehaves."
"You could try this approach: have the team sign a veteran player to put some pressure on him."
Daeny nodded and silently made a note of it. "Thank you, Coach Kim."
The two then shook hands, bowed, and Daeny walked out of the GEN base.
He flipped through his notebook, which contained notes on his understanding of the exchange and the heroes that the GEN players had been practicing privately recently.
The coaching team in the test server has a general understanding of the changes, and the changes in the official server are generally minor.
They're all old foxes; naturally, they wouldn't reveal everything during a conversation.
However, the players' private practice sessions largely reflect the coaching staff's understanding of the version.
After Daeny left, Kim felt a wave of fear.
He naturally noticed Daeny looking around and taking notes, but he wasn't afraid of that; the two leagues had different styles.
What you learn may not be useful in the LPL.
When it comes to international tournaments, not to mention the pressure from last year's runner-up BLG, IG won't even be able to participate in the Pioneer Tournament.
Even if we have a chance to meet at MSI, the version will have been changed quite a bit.
He said to the coaching staff around him, "Go and check out that new player on IG."
The other person looked puzzled. "Why? He's already in such a bad position on the Korean server, he needs other players to help him maintain his rank, and his account has been banned."
"A player like that probably won't be able to play many more matches."
Kim angrily smacked the other person on the head, "What are you talking about? Who does Daeny think he is? He even dared to bench Faker, do you think he wouldn't dare to demote a rookie?"
"Have you ever seen a rookie get the head coach to personally approach other coaches for advice on how to improve their performance?"
The other player touched his head, his back covered in cold sweat. If Coach Kim's guess was true, it would mean that a very strong new player had emerged in the LPL.
The first two super rookies in the LPL were Bin and JackeyLove.
IG base.
Mu Chun had just finished dinner and returned to the training room. He felt refreshed all day.
This Vayne top lane is so much fun! I'll play one last game, then I'll go practice champions on the Chinese server.
I queued up to enter the game, and was assigned the top lane position, but no one filled in for me.
Then, during the Vayne qualifier, he noticed that the ID of the player who picked Lee Sin in the third lane looked familiar. It seemed like he had that person as a friend on the banned account.
He didn't pay much attention and entered the game.
Going online is torture, don't eat, don't eat.
However, the opposing bot lane played even more aggressively than him, and they got a kill in the lane within three minutes.
This caused Etahan's lair to appear in the lower half of the map fourteen minutes later.
It wasn't until twenty minutes later that Ertahan refreshed the refresh.
The Blind Monk pings a signal to attack Erta Khan.
Mu Chun agreed, but remained unmoved on her journey.
I can't go, I absolutely can't go. This is in the bottom half of the map. If I accidentally end up in the bottom lane, am I not going to switch characters?
No, I'm not going. I'm not going no matter what.
Seeing that Vayne was refusing to come, Lee Sin kept casting question marks at Mu Chun's location.
Lee Sin died after his opponent took down Erta Khan.
The Lee Sin sent a message in Korean in the chat box.
Mu Chun didn't understand and ignored it.
But he understood the words that followed.
Lee Sin: Night Hunter - Survival
[Lee Sin: Chunfeng?]
Does he know me? Is he a fan of mine? I can have fans? Really?
Then, he glanced at the Blind Monk's ID, and the more he looked at it, the more familiar it seemed, but he just couldn't remember who it was.
Behind him, Meiko glanced at Mu Chun's computer as she passed by, noticing him frowning as he stared at someone's ID.
He leaned closer, looking at the Lee Sin's ID, "You've been matched with the coach."
Mu Chun suddenly realized, "Oh... it's the coach. I thought it was someone else."
A hotel in South Korea.
Daeny was thinking of playing a couple of ranked games to see how things went, but when he was selecting champions, he felt that the top laner's ID looked familiar. Mafa seemed to have told him before that this was someone's Korean server account.
He couldn't remember for a moment, so he asked Mafa, but received no reply for a long time.
Twenty minutes later, Etahan respawned, and Vayne still didn't come down to fight?
For a moment, he thought it was just a random person with a similar ID.
But Mafa replied, telling him that the person was Mu Chun, and that it was a new account given to him that day.
He was immediately furious. He typed out the IDs, worried that Rookie and TheShy weren't with Mu Chun.
More than ten minutes after the game ended, Mu Chun hadn't replied with a single word, and it seemed like he had started a new game. He immediately picked up his phone to make a call.
After searching around, he couldn't find Mu Chun's phone number, so he called Rookie instead.
IG base.
Mu Chun was still playing a new game when Rookie suddenly handed him his phone.
Mu Chun glanced at him with a puzzled look.
"The coach called you," Rookie said.
Mu Chun nodded, preparing to take the phone.
But suddenly a Korean voice came through.
After listening, Rookie replied, "Okay."
Then he said to Mu Chun, "I'll translate your conversation."
"The coach asked you, 'When did you start practicing Vayne? This champion isn't in your previous ranked games, and you even used her in the top lane. Why didn't you play her in the bot lane?'"
Mu Chun paused for a moment, then added a few more words, "I had an epiphany in one day, I understood the Demacia Cup, you know? I filled the top lane role, how could I, an AD carry, voluntarily go to play top lane?"
After Rookie relayed the message, another voice came from the other end, but this time the word "shiba" could be clearly heard.
Rookie coughed lightly, his tone amused, "The coach asked you why Boetahan didn't come."
Upon hearing this, Mu Chun's eyes darted around, searching for an opportunity to change the subject.
I can't exactly tell you that I can't play Vayne properly when I go to the bot lane, can I?
He quickly found a reason.
He maneuvered Vayne forward, saying, "Coach, a team fight has broken out on my side. I'll pick Galio to stand in the mid lane next game and listen to your explanation."
After Rookie finished translating, Mu Chun went up and hung up the phone.
Rookie looked at the calm top lane with a puzzled expression. There was no fight going on, and there wasn't even anyone there except Vayne.
He didn't say anything, and turned to go to the gym.
