Chapter 47 Begging Her
Chapter 47 Begging Her
After hanging up, I immediately dialed Lin Qiuran's number, calling four or five times in a row, but no one answered.
A few years ago, because of my breakup with Song Yafei, I was ostracized by almost all my classmates.
Right now, I have no one to turn to.
I had no choice but to call Song Yafei.
I cannot implicate Lin Qiuran.
The call connected, but I couldn't bring myself to speak for a long time.
All that could be heard on the phone was Song Yafei's breathing.
She is waiting.
She was like a hunter, casting her line, waiting for the fish to take the bait, watching helplessly as the fish struggled to its death, and then obediently became fish meat on the chopping board.
I am that fish.
My anxiety finally subsided.
This was all part of her scheme; she was waiting for me to give in.
I know I can't escape it in the end; I'm powerless!
I calmed myself down, lowered my voice, and tried to be as gentle as possible, "Yafei, where are you? I'm coming to find you."
A dismissive snort came from the other end of the phone: "I'm busy right now. Make dinner and wait for me."
She knew perfectly well why I was looking for her, and that it was urgent, but she pretended not to know.
I had no choice but to state it clearly: "The one at fault in this matter is Yu Chengliang's family, and has nothing to do with Lin Qiuran."
Peng knew that she was biased towards Yu Chengliang as a person, not towards the facts.
But I still couldn't resist humiliating myself.
This time, Song Yafei asked me calmly and somewhat sadly, "Zhang Tian, if it weren't for Lin Qiuran's matter, you would never have taken the initiative to contact me, right?"
Yes, that's exactly what I'm planning to do.
I was taken aback for a moment after she pointed out my secret, and instinctively asked her, "Do you mind?"
She already has Yu Chengliang, so does it matter whether I look for her or not?
Does it matter if we separate?
I can't guess what she's thinking, and I don't want to.
As always, Song Yafei did not answer, only saying, "I'm at the company, I'm not afraid to wait for you to come."
Then the call was disconnected.
The fact that she didn't directly reject it means there's still hope.
After arranging a next meeting with my guest, I immediately called a car and rushed to the Song family's house.
When I arrived at the Song family's office, I went straight to the receptionist and said, "I want to see Song Yafei."
The receptionist recognized me, but she treated me with disdain.
She must be among the people who usually make fun of and belittle me.
She glanced at me and rejected me without even bothering to make a confirmation call.
"Do you have an appointment? If not, you won't be able to see our CEO, Ms. Song, as she is very busy."
Her implication was clear.
Normally, I wouldn't bother with such a thing, but right now, with my mind preoccupied with Lin Qiuran's matter, I'm on the verge of getting angry.
Just as I was about to explode, Assistant Luo appeared at the opportune moment.
"Mr. Zhang, please come with me."
I nodded and followed.
I followed Assistant Luo to Song Yafei's office.
She wasn't there.
Assistant Luo explained, "President Song is in a meeting and has been extremely busy lately. Mr. Zhang may have to wait a while."
Even if this is just an excuse for her not to see me, I'm willing to wait for her.
I never expected that I would have to wait for more than three hours.
As I was dozing off on the sofa, I heard the familiar rhythm of high heels on the floor. I vaguely watched as Song Yafei opened the door and came in.
I was instantly awakened.
Song Yafei looked sharp and neat in a black suit.
Perhaps she was really in a meeting, because she looked exhausted.
She loosened her tied-up black hair, picked up the water on the table, and gulped down several mouthfuls.
I waited quietly until she finished doing all this before I went up to her.
Song Yafei tidied up the documents, stuffed them into the drawer, and then looked at me. "Are you going to plead for Lin Qiu?"
Now that I'm here, I've already placed my dignity at her feet. I can accept it if she wants to trample on it at will.
I nodded and said, "In this matter, Yu Chengliang's family was at fault first, and Lin Qiuran was only responding out of necessity. Can you ask Yu Chengliang to let him go?"
"Let him go? On what grounds?"
Song Yafei smiled contemptuously, looking at me mockingly, "It's a fact that he hit someone and damaged the company's interests, so how can you wrong him?"
“I will not stop Yu Chengliang from exercising his legal rights. On the contrary, you cannot protect him just because you are friends, can you?”
This is blatant false accusation!
I clenched my fists in anger, and my stomach started hurting again because of my emotional outburst.
I was resentful but couldn't say it out loud, not wanting to offend her and lose even the last chance to save Lin Qiuran.
I suppressed my anger, just then Assistant Luo brought coffee to Song Yafei.
I hesitated to speak, and Song Yafei dismissed Assistant Luo, instructing him, "Tell everyone to go home and not to bother us here."
Not long after Assistant Luo left, he heard a continuous stream of footsteps outside.
Once things calmed down outside, I made up my mind, but taking that step was very difficult.
I clutched the hem of my clothes tightly, walked up to Song Yafei, knelt on one knee, and obediently looked at her with my head bowed.
"What do I have to do for you to help me?"
Song Yafei laughed, a contemptuous laugh.
I laughed too, but the smile didn't reach my eyes.
My heart was clenched.
She looks down on me, but so do I.
Song Yafei didn't say anything, but just looked at me with a mocking expression, her eyes filled with anger.
I reached out and unbuttoned my clothes, revealing a large expanse of my chest.
I put her legs on my shoulders, like a puppy eagerly begging for pleasure.
"Is this okay?" I asked cautiously.
Song Yafei extended her index finger and gently hooked open her shirt. Her clean nails grazed my chest, causing me to tremble.
Suddenly, her eyes hardened, and her sharp nails dug into my flesh, leaving streaks of blood.
Then she kicked me away, grabbed a tissue, and wiped her hands with disgust.
I collapsed to the ground, my heart ashen.
This is the only thing I can do for Lin Qiuran.
But even here, I can't do it.
I endured the ridicule from Song Yafei, who held a high position.
"A tattered, stinking carcass, I'm tired of playing with it! You think you can beg me for something like this? Isn't that a bit too insincere?"
I gave a bitter laugh. "Then what else do I have?"
I have nothing left but the illness in my body.
"Why don't you tell me, Mr. Song, what else could I possibly have that would catch your eye?"
I was enveloped by a profound sense of sorrow, and perhaps Song Yafei sensed it too, for she was clearly taken aback for a moment.
It was only for a moment; the next second, she leaned forward and pushed me with all her might.
Her eyes burned with rage, and she was determined to push me down and trample me under her feet.
As she wished, I lay on the ground like a dog.
She placed her foot on my leg, looking down at me, and said through gritted teeth.
"Stop playing the victim!"
"You should have known this day would come when you abandoned me."
Are you confused? Why do I hate you so much, yet I'm still holding onto you and won't let you go?
I was very confused, but looking at her now, I felt a pang of heartache.
The reason that forced us to leave ultimately tormented us beyond repair.
