Chapter 88 Farewell to Ksitigarbha and Maitreya, Seeking Advice from Taiyi Zhenren
Chapter 88 Farewell to Ksitigarbha and Maitreya, Seeking Advice from Taiyi Zhenren
Below the Longmen Gate at the mouth of the Guanjiang River.
The chubby boy, not much taller than Yang Jiao, scratched his head and nodded with a smile, saying:
"I have naturally heard of Daoist Ran Deng and Daoist Duo Bao."
"One is the vice leader of the Chan Sect, and the other is the second-in-command of the Jie Sect. They are quite famous among the three sects."
Yang Jiao forced a smile, but couldn't manage it. Her eyes, however, held a hint of pity as she looked at Maitreya.
"Our understanding is still not comprehensive enough."
Although these two are currently second-in-commands, they will both become the top leaders of your Buddhist organization in the future!
Even in later generations, their statues were the largest in Buddhism.
Your usual position is as a greeter in the Mountain Gate Hall or Heavenly King Hall...
At this time, Maitreya was still a child, chubby and with dimples showing on his round face.
Throughout the conversation with Yang Jiao, he never opened his eyes once...
"Young friend, I feel a strong connection between you and our sect from our first meeting. If you haven't formally joined our sect, why not come to the Western Sect?"
"Rest assured, I, Maitreya, hereby swear that when I ascend to the throne, I will place you in a position second only to mine!"
When Maitreya said this, his eyes were full of sincerity.
They should promote both of their Western religious beliefs.
But what Yang Jiao thought was—this chubby boy wants to take me to the temple entrance to say 'Welcome'!
Yang Jiao looked visibly reluctant.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva stepped forward to resolve the situation and said:
“I invited you before, but you have a heart that is open to the world and are unwilling to be confined to a religious sect. This is truly a great loss to our Western Religion.”
Maitreya, not wanting to force anyone, nodded in agreement and then said:
"You are exceptionally intelligent, and your words contain profound meaning, which Maitreya cannot fathom."
"On my next visit, young friend, please bring along another highly insightful disciple of mine, Jin Chanzi. I hope you won't forget me."
Yang Jiao's ears perked up, and she exclaimed in surprise:
"Jin Chanzi?!"
It wasn't that he had profound insights; Jin Chanzi was simply stubborn and unconvinced.
Master is giving a lecture, and he is reciting scriptures.
The Master is propagating the Dharma, and he stands up to prove you're wrong.
Otherwise, why would they have sent him on the pilgrimage?
Otherwise, why would he have been eaten by monsters in nine reincarnations?
In the end, if it weren't for the Monkey King, even the tenth incarnation wouldn't have been able to cross the Tongtian River.
Yang Jiao leaned back tactically and declined, saying:
"I am about to go into seclusion, and it is unknown when I will emerge. I will take my leave now so as not to leave you empty-handed."
Maitreya, however, didn't seem to care. He patted his round belly and laughed:
"It's alright. Walking on the road to meet friends is already a kind of fulfillment. We may not see each other today or tomorrow, but we will always meet again in the future."
As expected of the future Buddha, even his few words revolve around the future.
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva took out a ball of golden light from his robes and stepped forward, saying:
"This is the merit generated by the prayer wheels and prayer flags that guide the souls of the deceased. My purpose in coming to see you again is this."
Yang Jiao looked at this huge mass of merit, which was about the same size as the handful she had grabbed from the head of the Primordial Celestial Venerable when she was one year old.
This shows how great the merit of performing the ritual to help the deceased find peace is.
She happily accepted it.
The light of merit flashed in her hand, leaped behind her head, and then disappeared into it.
Yang Jiao could clearly feel that her body had undergone slight changes after accumulating a large amount of merit, and the spiritual energy she absorbed from the surroundings was becoming purer.
She thanked Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, and then...
Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva also bowed in return.
Then came the chubby Maitreya Buddha, who kept turning back to promise Yang Jiao how many benefits he could give her after becoming the leader of the Western Religion.
Seeing that the two large Buddha statues had finally left, the river god, who had been holding his breath and barely daring to breathe, finally gasped and said:
"If you don't want to go to the Western religion, then you don't want to go. What's with all this talk about seclusion?"
"I really need to go into seclusion."
"what?"
After hearing this, the river god silently sank into the water, leaving only his head above water.
After bubbling a lot of bubbles from its nose, Gududu stretched out a hand and waved, saying:
"Goodbye."
Two and a half days have already passed in three days.
Yang Jiao currently has only one thing left to accomplish.
The Three Lights Divine Water for Growing Gourd Vine.
Yang Jiao pedaled his tricycle aimlessly over the mouth of the Manguan River. There was no other reason than that the Primordial Celestial Venerable lived in the Thirty-Three Heavens, and even his cheap uncle might not be able to get up there.
What about myself?
The more frustrated she felt, the faster she pedaled.
The all-seeing eye below was so keenly aware that spiral patterns appeared in its eyes.
The wailing sound came from beside the Wind-Eared Serpent:
"Come help me, I'm dizzy, I can't stand up, and I feel nauseous."
The heavenly soldiers and generals panicked upon seeing the afterimage in the sky.
"Quickly report to the Immortal Lord, our little ancestor is in a bad mood!"
Yang Jiao racked her brains, trying to think of a solution, and suddenly shifted the target.
Secret passage:
"If you can't find Yuanshi Tianzun, you can look for his disciple!"
Yang Jiao turned around and went straight to Qianyuan Mountain.
Arriving as the sun was setting, I rushed inside, shouting even before I reached the stone corridor:
"Master Taiyi! Please help me!"
Upon hearing Yang Jiao's voice, Taiyi Zhenren's first reaction was that something had happened to Nezha. He had just stood up when he heard the next sentence, and he slowly sat down again.
A hint of smugness slowly rose on his face as he thought to himself:
"Finally, you have a chance to use your skills! Quickly come and beg your senior brother, anything is negotiable, I'll get it done for you!"
Yang Jiao ran into the cave.
Seeing that Master Taiyi was meditating with his eyes closed, he hurriedly stepped forward and said:
"Master, I don't have much time left."
"what?!"
Taiyi Zhenren's eyes widened; he could no longer remain calm.
What's wrong? Why is time running out?
He hurriedly asked:
"Did something happen to your family?"
Could it be that the Jade Emperor discovered this?
I'll gather the twelve Golden Immortals and go to Guanjiang Estuary to speak with the Jade Emperor.
Huh? Yang Jiao's expression froze, and she blinked, asking in surprise:
"What could possibly happen to my family?"
Upon hearing this, Taiyi Zhenren breathed a sigh of relief. Since it wasn't the Jade Emperor who discovered Yao Ji's affair, everything would be much easier to handle.
With a flick of his whisk and a confident tone that said, "I'm here for you," he continued:
“Since it’s not something that’s wrong with your family, then nothing else matters. Young friend, just ask and I’ll help you.”
Upon hearing this, Yang Jiao felt a great weight lifted from her heart.
Heart Road:
That's right, that's right. As a direct disciple of the Primordial Celestial Venerable, getting something is easy for him.
He immediately stated:
"This is not difficult; it can be done with just a word from the master."
Master Taiyi raised an eyebrow, feeling extremely satisfied.
Within the Three Realms, one still needs to give oneself some face; it's easy to talk, everything is easy to talk.
Let's patiently wait for what our future junior sister will say next.
Seeing the nonchalant expression on Taiyi Zhenren's face, Yang Jiao knew she had come to the right place and assumed the matter would be easy to handle. She hesitated for a moment before saying:
"Could you please go to my master and borrow a bottle of the Three Lights Divine Water for me? Thank you."
After saying this, Taiyi Zhenren did not react.
Yang Jiao took another step forward and stared intently at him.
They saw that Taiyi Zhenren suddenly entered a meditative state, his body stiffened, his eyes bulging out, and he didn't even blink, only beads of sweat kept secreting from his forehead.
She waved her hand in front of his eyes.
I noticed that even the light in Taiyi Zhenren's eyes had disappeared!
He couldn't even see the reflection of his own hand, as if he were blind!
He hurriedly shook his hand and asked:
"Master Taiyi? What's wrong with you?"
Shake it.
Taiyi Zhenren's body tensed and he fell backward, smashing the bottles and jars behind the futon with a bang.
Even so, he still did not react.
Yang Jiao panicked.
Why does the once spirited and confident Master Taiyi suddenly seem like he's dead?
She struggled to lift him up and frantically pinched his philtrum.
"Real person, wake up!"
Yang Jiao's fingertips started to bleed.
Only then did they see Taiyi Zhenren slowly inhale, then lean back and look at Yang Jiao in fear.
Eyelids blinked rapidly.
She murmured in disbelief:
"I?"
"I'm looking for my master..."
"You want the Three Lights Divine Water?"
"Give me back one bottle!"
