It was seven o'clock in the evening. Ling Yun returned home. An Shiyu was cooking in the kitchen, while her daughter sat on the living room carpet, a sketchbook open in front of her, coloring with crayons. An Shiyu poked her head out from the kitchen and said, "Dinner's ready."
The daughter stood up, took Lingyun's hand, and walked towards the dining table. There was braised pork, stir-fried bok choy, and tomato and egg soup. Lingyun sat down, his daughter beside him, and An Shiyu opposite him.
An Shiyu served him a bowl of rice and placed it in front of him. He picked up the bowl and took a bite.
An Shiyu asked him, "How was today?"
Ling Yun replied, "Smoothly, the development direction for the next few years has been planned."
Ling Yun thought for a moment, then said, "Notebook R&D, upstream acquisitions, software spin-offs, laboratory research, and chip acquisitions."
An Shiyu nodded and placed a piece of braised pork into his bowl. She only served him vegetables and rice, and wiped her daughter's mouth. Her daughter ate two bites, then stopped and said she wanted water. An Shiyu poured her some water, and she took two sips before putting the cup down.
After dinner, Ling Yun went to wash the dishes. An Shiyu was in the living room watching cartoons with their daughter. He stood in the kitchen, washing and drying each bowl, then putting them away in the cupboard. The sound of the running water from the faucet drowned out the television in the living room.
He finished washing, dried his hands, and went back to the living room. His daughter was already leaning against An Shiyu, her eyes blinking, almost asleep. An Shiyu gently patted her back, humming a slow tune.
Ling Yun sat down beside her. An Shiyu didn't look at him, continuing to pat her daughter. The daughter closed her eyes, her breathing gradually becoming even. An Shiyu picked her up, carried her into the bedroom, placed her on the crib, and covered her with a blanket. When she came out, she closed the bedroom door behind her.
She sat down next to Lingyun, who reached out and took her hand; her hand was a little cold. The two of them sat there quietly.
Ling Yun said softly to An Shiyu, "I'm going to England next month."
An Shiyu leaned on his shoulder and said, "Going to England next month?"
Ling Yun replied, "Yes. Let's go discuss the acquisition of ARM."
An Shiyu asked him, "How long will it take?"
