Traveling to ancient times, with space

Chapter 55 Clinging to the God's Leg

Chapter 55 Clinging to the God's Leg

Once the cloth was laid out on the tree branch, Su Yue took out a roll of oilcloth from her spatial storage.

The two women, master and servant, who were helping to set up the tent, were dumbfounded. Had they encountered a deity? Otherwise, how could she conjure things up? It must be her, otherwise she wouldn't be so powerful and able to defeat so many refugees who had tied them up.

Shen Lerong stopped crying, grabbed the still dazed Chun Tao, and with a thud, knelt on the ground and kowtowed. She kept muttering that she had met a deity and must cling to the deity's leg.

Su Yue pulled the two women up and handed them the tarpaulin. She instructed them to cover the tarpaulin with the tree branches they had set up.

The gods commanded the two women to work, and they readily agreed, working with incredible speed and efficiency.

Soon, several people braved the heavy rain and erected a shed that was 1.5 meters high and 2 meters long and wide.

As soon as the tent was set up, Su Yue beckoned Shen Lerong and her maid Chun Tao to come in quickly.

Su Yue then took out a stove, a pot, clean water and rice from her spatial storage, and also brought out four stools.

They brought out a clean set of clothes for Dali, Shen Lerong, and Chuntao, and told them to boil water, wash themselves, and change into them.

She went into the space and took a hot bath; her body was still small, and she couldn't afford to catch a cold.

After Su Yue finished washing up in the space, she left without lingering.

The three of them had already changed and washed; the other two were still drying their hair with cotton cloths. Only Dali was bald and didn't need to dry his hair.

Seeing that rice porridge was still simmering on the stove, Su Yue took out another stove and a small iron pot from her spatial storage and brewed some brown sugar ginger tea to warm the group up.

It's been raining these past few days and it's gotten quite cold. I'm afraid those two will get sick if they don't drink some ginger tea.

After drinking the ginger soup, the group drank some rice porridge before warming themselves by the fire and watching the still-rushing mudslide outside.

I'm still shaken. If it weren't for Dali, I probably would have been swept away.

"Dali, you were great today. Here's a candy for you as a reward." Su Yue popped a piece of candy into Dali's mouth.

Dali Mei picked up Su Yue and put her on her lap, patting her like an adult soothing a baby to sleep.

Hey, Dali put her in the baby's arms, but Su Yue really enjoyed it. Being held by Dali was so warm and cozy, and she fell asleep in no time.

After Su Yue fell asleep, Shen Lerong tentatively asked Dali, "Dali, is your master a deity descended from heaven?"

Dali didn't understand, but she understood the word "deity," so she nodded and said, "Deity, it's a deity, my deity."

Shen Lerong noticed from the beginning that Dali seemed to have some mental issues, but upon closer inspection, she realized that it was Dali who had the mental issues.

Anyone who says Dali is stupid is truly stupid. Look at her, she even dares to sleep with a deity in her arms and says the deity is hers.

No, I must stick close to the immortals. Maybe when they leave, they can take me with them, and maybe I can become an immortal too.

Hehe, the more I think about it, the more determined I am to stick close to Su Yue. I can't let Dali have all the immortals by himself in the future.

Perhaps because of the rain, it got dark early, and Shen Lerong and Chuntao slept leaning against each other.

They stayed there for three days. During those three days, the heavy rain continued to fall, and the mudslide below had long since turned into rainwater, flowing down in a rushing stream.

Shen Lerong cried several times over the past three days.

Su Yue really wanted to ask this girl how many tears she had, she could really cry. She wondered if all officials' daughters could cry like this, or if it was just Shen Lerong who could cry.

"Dali, does the rain seem to be getting lighter?" Su Yue stretched out her hand.

Chun Tao, perhaps annoyed by her young mistress's crying, squatted down next to Su Yue and said, "Hey, it seems that's true. Don't cry, Miss. Look, the rain is about to stop. We can go home now."

This only made Shen Lerong sob even more.

Su Yue was really scared. She tried to go out with Dali, but Dali picked her up as soon as they went out. Su Yue had no choice but to hold up an oil-paper umbrella and the two of them left the shed.

The two walked around the area and found that many trees had collapsed due to the rain, and all the yellow leaves had fallen, leaving the trees bare.

Su Yue had Dali carry her closer down, and with her other hand, she patted Dali, saying, "Look, aren't those corpses floating on the water?"

Dali looked at it for a while before nodding.

There were at least a thousand corpses floating densely on the water's surface; they must have been washed down from the villages upstream.

Su Yue felt a chill run down her spine. If someone with trypophobia saw this, they would probably want to die.

"Dali, let's go back. We won't look anymore. We'll leave as soon as the rain stops. Sigh! After a major disaster, there will surely be a major epidemic. We can't stay here."

When the two returned, Shen Lerong stopped crying and even had the mood to sew the wig that Su Yue had asked her to make.

"My benefactor, you're back. Please sit down." Shen Lerong moved the stool next to the stove so that Su Yue could sit down and warm herself by the fire.

These two are somewhat useful; Shen Lerong can embroider and sew, and the little maid Chun Tao can cook. This combination is quite good.

"Don't call me benefactor or anything like that, just call me boss. From now on, you'll mend clothes, Chun Tao will cook, and I'll take care of your food and lodging, how about that?" Su Yue was hugged tightly again by Dali, and then she found a comfortable position.

The two of them readily agreed, nodding hurriedly as if afraid that Su Yue would change her mind if they waited any longer.

The next day, the sky began to clear up, the sun was high in the sky, but it was noticeably less scorching than before, and you could feel a cool breeze blowing by.

After breakfast, Su Yue put everything into her spatial storage, and the group set off on their journey.

The mountain path was extremely difficult to walk on after the rain. Some places looked flat, but as soon as you stepped on them, you would find yourself in a mud pit.

After walking along a mountain path, we soon came to a flat path. We didn't know where it led, but even though it was flat, the path was still very muddy after the rain.

It took them two more days to walk this road and finally get onto the main road, where there were already quite a few refugees.

The four sat by the roadside eating, drinking, and resting. Some of the migrants stared at the food in their hands, their eyes practically popping out of their sockets.

Some of the refugees who tried to approach were scared away by the large knife in Dali's hand.

Su Yue's legs were about to break from walking these past two days. Even though she was carried by Dali from time to time, she was still too small. She was almost eleven years old and still not 1.4 meters tall.

Su Yue glanced at the road and realized she could now ride in a horse-drawn carriage. This time, she didn't plan to ride a mule; it was getting cold, and riding in a cart would make her scalp tingle.

They took out a carriage from the space, but it was still pulled by mules, only two mules.

The moment I sat down in the carriage, I realized that no one would be driving me. But luckily, the mule already had experience and knew where to go on its own without being driven.

Su Yue spread a thick quilt on the cart, half-reclined, and ate sunflower seeds while reading a book she had taken out of her spatial storage.

Dali, unwilling to enter the carriage, sat in the front with Chuntao, watching out for anyone else approaching. Shen Lerong, meanwhile, sat inside, sewing clothes for Su Yue and brewing tea for her.
