Chapter 26 Space Changes
Chapter 26 Space Changes
Su Yue wandered around the village. Normally, the villagers would be lining up to fetch water at this time, but today there wasn't a soul in sight.
After a busy night, Su's stomach was growling with hunger, so she decided to go back to her space to cook!
The sky is big and the earth is big, and eating is the biggest thing.
I ate something light for breakfast. I cooked a big pot of rice porridge and a pot of tea eggs. I'll save the leftovers for the journey.
After eating and drinking her fill, Su Yue began to tidy up the places she had used during her escape in her spatial dimension.
Although you can take anything you need from the space, you still need to make sure things are done properly on the surface.
She didn't need to pretend in front of the Su family because she was confident she could control them.
But that wouldn't work on the road of fleeing famine. You never know how many eyes will be watching you along the way, so even if it's just for show, you have to do it right.
They selected the smallest and thinnest mule from the available space, harnessed it to a cart, and loaded it with a chest, a thick quilt, a small stove, a small iron pot, a bag of brown rice, a bag of flour, a bucket of water, and some cooking seasonings…
After packing everything up, Su Yue took her favorite large iron spoon and got into the mule cart, ready to go out.
Suddenly the space went dark, and Su Yue and the mule cart were thrown out. When she tried to go back in, she found that she could not, but she could still sense the existence of the space with her mental power.
Su Yue had a rough idea of what was going on. She had only discovered the space upgrades after entering it the first two times. This time, she was only prompted to pop up because she was still inside the space. She wondered what the space would look like after this upgrade.
If we can't go in, then we can't go in. Luckily, I brought some food with me, which should be enough to last me for several days.
She spread the blanket from the mule cart directly on where she was sitting, and then began her journey north to escape the famine.
Not long after they started walking, Su Yue was sitting on the mule cart. Even though there was a quilt on the ground, she was still shaken so much that her back ached, her legs cramped.
The original owner had no memory of coming this way, so Su Yue was just following her instincts.
Su Yue hadn't encountered many people after walking for so long. She wondered if they all knew the Xiongnu were coming and had run off to the next town.
Looking at the sky, Su Yue leaned against the cart and fanned herself with her hand. "Forget it, it's too hot. I'll find a cool place to eat something and rest before continuing!"
After driving the mule cart into the woods and parking it, Su Yue used her mental energy to probe the space, but still couldn't get in.
After getting off the cart and stretching my limbs, I started gathering firewood in the woods to cook.
Take down the small stove and the small iron pot, then take a bowl, crack in two eggs, add some salt, water and flour, stir well, light the fire, and pour oil into the pot.
Soon, the egg pancakes were ready, and the leftover white porridge from the morning was heated up.
The meal was then completed, and Su Yue enjoyed a delicious meal.
After eating her fill, Su Yue lay down on the cart to rest and began to let her thoughts wander!
The only downside is that I have to do all of this myself. Sigh! When will she ever be able to live a life where she doesn't have to lift a finger and has everything done for her?
I lay there for more than an hour before getting up, packing my things, and putting them on the cart.
I tried to probe the space again with my mental energy, but I still couldn't get in.
Well, getting on the road is the priority. We haven't gone far yet, and it would be bad if the Xiongnu weren't stopped and rushed over.
Su Yue continued driving the mule cart until it was almost dark before she finally saw a few refugees carrying bundles on their backs in the distance.
Su Yue didn't stop as she passed by these people, completely ignoring those who wanted to hitch a ride.
They stopped in a grove of trees when it got too dark to see the road anymore.
I don't know how far it is from the next town. We've been walking for a whole day. We should be able to get there in about half a day tomorrow.
Su Yue ate the leftover eggs from lunch and drank a bowl of water. She then fed the mule some more food and water before lying down on the cart to rest.
Su Yue didn't dare to sleep too soundly that night, remaining in a state between sleep and wakefulness.
There were a lot of mosquitoes in the woods. When Su Yue woke up in the morning, her face was covered with several big red bumps from their bites.
Scratching the pimples on my face, I looked around and sighed. What a miserable night!
After getting off the cart, I found a thick, large tree to relieve myself, and for the nth time, I missed the modern toilet.
Back on the cart, Su Yue once again used her mental power to probe the space, this time taking both herself and the mule cart into the space.
Su Yue stared at the space that had been upgraded for a day and a night, her mouth agape.
Is this still the same space? Or has this place truly become a fairyland?
The original two bamboo houses have now become a row, and after counting, there are actually eight bamboo houses: one, two, three, four...
Even the small hill where Huang Mao's family lived has become a high mountain, with a small waterfall flowing down from it. The water flows all the way to the small pond that was dug, no, it's no longer a small pond, but a very large lake.
Even the trees planted at the foot of the mountain are laden with fruit.
The land area was several times larger than before, and the crops planted there all bowed over when they matured.
The well next to the bamboo house was also much larger, and the spring water inside was bubbling up white mist.
Looking up, I saw that the entire space was shrouded in this mist, and a breath of it was refreshing and invigorating.
It seems like there are more animals brought in from the mountain.
With a thought, I arrived on the mountain, where rabbits and pheasants were running around, and there were more than twenty small wild boars than when I first came in.
Yellow Hair and his little rascals were still chasing rabbits all over the mountain.
Big Egg, Second Egg, Third Egg, and Nuomi all seem to have grown a lot.
Bai Xue rushed over to Su Yue as soon as she saw her, happily nuzzling against her as if they hadn't seen each other for a long time.
Su Yue rubbed its big head, telling it to go play with Huang Mao, and then she flashed to the Spirit Spring Well.
Huang Mao and the other pups had barely seen Su Yue when she disappeared again before they could even run over.
Arriving at the Lingquan Well, I scooped up a bowlful and drank it; the taste was no different from before.
He smacked his lips and drank another bowl.
Then we went to see what the several bamboo houses that had appeared were for.
The original two bamboo houses remain unchanged.
The bamboo houses that appeared later all had signs that read: Alchemy Pavilion, Weapon Refining Pavilion, Talisman Making Pavilion, Array Formation Pavilion, Herbs Pavilion, etc.
Su Yue could barely make out the words on the door. She pushed open the door and was about to go in and take a look when she was suddenly thrown out without warning.
What the hell! Not a single one of them can get in.
Su Yue was so angry she wanted to curse for three days and three nights. "You showed up but won't let me in? Isn't this just teasing me? Humph! You won't let me in? Do you think I want to go in? I don't want to go in now!"
I went to the bamboo house from the beginning, fuming, and found that it had changed a bit, with a row of bookshelves that seemed to have been added.
Su Yue picked up a book on herbal medicine, opened it, and saw illustrations of every plant. Each plant was depicted with accompanying text, though she didn't recognize some of the characters.
However, the plants in the picture look somewhat familiar; it seems like they're among the weeds outside the bamboo house.
Su Yue took the book and checked it; it was indeed true.
I thought it was just a patch of weeds, but it turned out to be some treasures. Luckily, I'm not lazy, otherwise it would have been a shame to pull them all out.
After putting the book back in the bamboo house, Su Yue wandered around the space, eating and drinking as she went, and soon she was full.
Seeing that the mule had eaten enough inside the space, they prepared to leave.
