Chapter 1957 - 514: Imperial Schism
Chapter 1957 - 514: Imperial Schism
Huang Kaiwen said.
"Ha... damn it!"
Inzaghi spat fiercely and cursed.
Never expected there would be such a saying.
If the treasure location is easy to find, it might have been emptied by someone.
If it’s hard to find, then what’s the point?
Either way, it seems like a pointless effort.
The group arrived at Cape Maamoura by the sea, splitting into two groups of five to search.
Seeing that Huang Kaiwen kept reading Rommel’s diary, Ramos asked in a low voice, "Have you discovered anything?"
"Yes, but I’m not sure."
Huang Kaiwen said somewhat frustratedly, "There are some awkward parts in the diary, and I suspect he wasn’t using German."
"Not German?"
The Young Master asked curiously.
"Yes, just a simple little trick, I didn’t think of it at first."
Huang Kaiwen said, "If you were learning another language and couldn’t remember the pronunciation, what would you do?"
The Young Master immediately replied, "I would use Italian to annotate the pronunciation!"
"Exactly!"
Huang Kaiwen nodded vigorously and said, "Rommel’s birthplace is close to Poland, I suspect these messy sentences are German words written with similar-sounding Polish words to make the meaning clear!"
It’s like a Chinese person deliberately writing "drive CAR (开车出门)" instead of "drive out".
If you don’t know what language or meaning they’re using, you really can’t understand.
Huang Kaiwen used this method when he learned English as a kid.
He just didn’t expect it to be so simple; he always thought in more complex terms, like codes.
"Don’t blame yourself, Kevin, you’ve already done enough."
Ramos advised.
"Yes, Kevin,"
The Young Master nodded and said.
Huang Kaiwen acted like a superhero, a small mistake is nothing.
The few of them could only continue searching by the seaside, perhaps preparing for a long-term effort.
Tunisia looks small on the map, but the coastline they’re targeting is over 70 kilometers long.
The three of them ate a simple meal of rice and mutton, and continued searching.
The Young Master pointed to the seaside and asked, "What kind of fish is that, Kevin?"
"Don’t you recognize sardines?"
Huang Kaiwen laughed, ruffling The Young Master’s head, saying, "Little guy, I’m not at the point where you need to worry about me, I’m an adult."
The Young Master chuckled.
At this moment, the walkie-talkie hanging on Ramos’ body came to life with Kaka’s exclamation, "Filippo fell into a hole, what should we do now?"
"Don’t worry Ricardo."
Huang Kaiwen grabbed the walkie-talkie and asked, "What happened at that time?"
"Filippo and I were looking by the sea, he saw a rabbit and chased after it, I was worried it wasn’t safe and followed quickly, but as he was running, the ground suddenly gave way and Filippo fell in."
Kaka said anxiously.
"Did you call down into the hole?"
Huang Kaiwen asked.
"I did, he didn’t respond," Kaka said.
"Wait for us to get there, don’t act on your own, and also stay away from the hole, the nearby rock layers have already hollowed out."
Huang Kaiwen quickly said, turning and starting to jog.
Ramos looked at The Young Master and asked, "Do you need me to help carry your backpack, IT boy?"
"Don’t underestimate me."
The Young Master said defiantly.
Though he’d only been a computer enthusiast for a short time and hadn’t lost much physical fitness.
The young people really weren’t weak when it came to running and jumping abilities.
The three took a short rest along the way, then ran all the way to where Kaka was, The Young Master with his backpack didn’t fall behind.
Kaka pointed up the mountain and said, "It’s up there."
"Let’s go up slowly, and tie the ropes tightly around here, you and Chris stay aside, Sergio and I will go to the hole from both sides to check it out." Huang Kaiwen quickly said.
Kaka and The Young Master both offered no objections.
Huang Kaiwen shook his head, can Inzaghi, that bastard, really be this lucky?
He wasn’t really worried about Inzaghi’s safety.
So many times fate intervened and Inzaghi lived well, he’s definitely not someone who would die young.
Upon reaching the mountain, Huang Kaiwen obviously felt something was wrong with the rock layers beneath his feet.
Even the sound of walking on them was different.
He waved his hand quickly and Ramos got the signal, finding a place to tie the ropes tightly, Huang Kaiwen was doing the same.
After they both slowly approached the hole, Huang Kaiwen discovered that the surrounding trees blocked the sunlight, he lay at the hole’s edge, bending over to listen, and heard the sound of running water.
Taking out a flashlight to shine down, Huang Kaiwen almost cursed.
Damn!
He saw the military uniforms of the Deutsche Drei!
They spent the whole morning searching, only for Inzaghi to stumble upon it by accident.
"Find more secure places nearby to tie a few more ropes, we’re all going down, below should be our destination."
Huang Kaiwen put away the flashlight and said.
The Young Master and Kaka immediately began looking around for solid spots.
After securing the ropes, Ramos slid down first with gloves on.
He then signaled above with the flashlight.
Kaka and The Young Master slid down one after another, and Huang Kaiwen checked the surroundings before going down last.
"I feel this is probably it."
Ramos pointed at the corpse of a Deutsche Drei soldier and said, "They were probably silenced."
Huang Kaiwen gave a thumbs-up, his good brother’s guess was exactly like his own.
Kaka specifically ran to try the dark river’s edge, and said disappointedly, "This water depth doesn’t seem to allow a submarine to pass, right?"
"The terrain decades ago might not have been like this."
Huang Kaiwen said.
Hearing Huang Kaiwen’s words, Kaka immediately nodded.
The group walked forward for a few minutes and saw a submarine with Inzaghi standing beside it.
"Bastard, why didn’t you tell me?"
Kaka asked angrily.
Inzaghi said sheepishly, "I fell into the river, and by the time I figured out what was going on, I was already here, I have no idea what happened."
"Forget it, Ricardo, we owe a lot to Filippo this time."
Huang Kaiwen said.
If not for Inzaghi, they’d have a hard time finding this place.
Following Ramos’s flashlight beam, Huang Kaiwen realized he’d judged wrongly.
This is not a Type II, rather a Type VII!
German submarines’ types are expressed with Roman numerals and letters,
Hull number U483!
This was already a submarine from the mid-war period.
"Let’s go, and see the legendary treasure."
Huang Kaiwen opened the hatch and said.
The group started entering the submarine one by one.
U-boats come in many types, such as mine-laying, supply, long-range warfare, etc., this U483 was for long-range warfare, so its internal space was quite spacious, allowing for more supplies and ammunition to be stored during war times.
After passing storage lockers, the torpedo room, and the launch compartment, the group finally encountered a problem.
Ahead should be the control room, but the door to the control room was locked tight.
There aren’t three buttons for them to choose this time.
