Chapter 39 Problems in the City
Chapter 39 Problems in the City
"Tap tap tap..." In the city full of wreckage, squads of B1 and B2 combat robots began to patrol the city and try to find the survivors.
"Whoosh~" Hundreds of B1 combat robots roared past in mid-air, piloting individual flying platforms to provide intelligence to ground troops.
"Vroom~ Vroom~" One military Humvee after another drove past the combat robot troops patrolling the ground, heading towards the location of Galatron in the city center.
"Whoosh—" In the sky, an RVF-171 reconnaissance plane roared past, escorted by five VF-171 fighter jets.
Higher in the sky, a large early warning aircraft, escorted by ten VF-171 fighter jets, surveyed the ruins of the city below...
Military bases within the city - underground bases
"Doctor, what do you think of these things?" the survivors asked the doctor as they watched the outside world through the monitor.
“I’ll take a look.” The doctor glanced at the person who asked the question.
"..." The others dared not speak.
“I don’t know what’s going on with these people, but we’d better wait and see how long our current food will last,” the doctor said, looking at one of them.
"In extreme cases, it will take three months; if no rations are provided, it will only take one month," an officer responded.
"We'll implement a semi-rationing system now, and if they're still around after a month, we'll send people to contact them," the doctor said.
"I understand," the officer nodded in response.
…………
"How many people do you think are still alive in this city?" an Imperial Freeman soldier asked from inside a Hummer.
“Who knows? Her Majesty the Queen said she felt like someone was spying on her, which means there are still living people in the city. Didn’t the guys up there scan it? This city is a metropolis with a population of fifty million,” one person replied.
"Fifty million? That's a lot for an ordinary civilization."
"Attention! A group of zombies has been spotted ahead. Prepare for battle!" someone shouted.
"I'll go..." The soldiers immediately got up and prepared for battle.
"Ugh!!!" A dense army of zombies surged toward the convoy.
"Fire!" the officer ordered.
"Hiss—~" "Da da da..." The vehicle-mounted laser/kinetic MG42 machine gun on the Humvee began spraying ammunition, and the soldiers also got out of the vehicle to fight the zombie horde.
"Put-put-put..." In the sky, ten armed helicopters began to clear the ground, and five transport helicopters carried down five tanks.
"Beware of fast-moving units within the zombie horde! Provide fire support!" the officer suddenly shouted the order.
"Bang bang bang bang..." Five tanks fired at the horde of zombies, and grenades exploded violently among them...
"Roar—!!!" A huge creature roared in the midst of the zombie horde, crushing many zombies before charging rapidly toward the convoy.
"Convert the gunpowder machine gun to explosive power, attack!" The officer frowned, then gave the order.
"Da da da... jiu jiu jiu..." The ordinary gunpowder bullets from the ten Humvee machine guns were converted into explosive beams, but the skin of that unknown creature was a bit too thick.
"Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!" Two more of the same creatures appeared, and the three swift, large creatures quickly rushed towards the convoy...
"Damn it, Sky Fox 1, launching a reaction missile towards our position! Towards... Zzzzz..."
…………
In the sky, inside an early warning aircraft
"Sky Fox One, launch a reaction missile at our unknown location...buzzing..." The ground troops' communications quickly turned into static over the communicator...
"It looks like there's something rather troublesome in this city," a communications officer frowned.
"Sir, what about the reaction missile?" the communications officer asked.
"Notify the reconnaissance team to fire reactive missiles at the coordinates," the officer responded.
"Yes, sir."
"We've only gone less than fifty kilometers into the city and this problem has already occurred, not to mention the loss of a small squad..." The officer seemed lost in thought.
"Sky Fox One, this is a space passenger. Our fleet has arrived in planetary orbit and is ready to provide orbital support at any time," came the voice of the fleet over the communicator.
"This is Sky Fox One, received."

Unknown Plains - Imperial Forward Base
"Your Majesty, a squad has been completely wiped out fifty kilometers outside the city," an android officer reported.
"Why are they so close? Didn't that reconnaissance report say there was only a group of zombies?" Xing asked curiously.
"Follow-up reports indicate the presence of over a dozen giant creatures. Genetic scanning revealed that these creatures are not mutated species native to this planet," the officer responded.
"The other world... I understand. Pass the word down. If necessary, call in a fleet orbital strike. I don't believe that thing can withstand an attack from a blast cannon," Xing said.
"Yes, Your Majesty." The officer left the office.
"System, what's going on with those things?" Star asked the system.
"These are demon-like life forms. I examined the residual information on them; they seem to be vanguard forces, specifically clearing out a territory to prepare for the upcoming invasion of the demon army," the system responded.
“Demons… What on earth is happening in this world? Not only are there an unbelievable number of spatial passages, but there are at least ten more that are unfolding or about to unfold…” Xing frowned.
"You can find a way to spread the power of your destiny to this world," the system said.
"How can I spread this world without a Star God?" Xing asked, puzzled.
"You don't need a Star God. You are already an apprentice demigod of the Void Sea level, which is a level higher than a Star God in terms of rank. There is no problem in spreading the power of destiny on your body," the system said.
"Is that so? How do I spread it?" Xing asked curiously.
"Feel your own power," the system responded.
"That's it? Okay, I'll give it a try..." Xing closed his eyes and began to mobilize his divine power...

City - Unknown Area
"Run! Run!" a man shouted, urging the people behind him to flee.
"Brother Tian!" A few stubborn guys ran back.
"Idiots! You should have left with them." Tian Ge, with his face full of scars, slapped his underling's face. The scars on his distorted face made him look even more terrifying.
“We’ll die together. If it weren’t for Brother Tian, I would have been dead long ago,” one of the henchmen said.
"We only have so many people. What about the elderly, the weak, the sick, and the disabled?" Brother Tian looked at the people who were still evacuating behind him.
"The others are here. Have you forgotten that you have more than just us as your underlings?" the underling said with a smile.
"Tsk, let's buy some time for the people behind us. I'll go first!" Brother Tian shouted, charging into the horde of zombies, especially the army that included several giant creatures, with a fearless spirit...
