Chapter 925: Illness
Chapter 925: Illness
Ronan Kingston’s expression changed slightly. Then he made up his mind, nodded, and said, "Alright, I’ll go back and study now. The exam is on Monday, so I’ll head back and review first, bro."
"Go on." Julian Kingston waved his hand and watched Ronan Kingston leave.
"You can go too." Julian looked at Isaac Ross and said, "Isn’t your Ross Hospital getting ready to open a few more branches? You’ve got so much going on, no need to stay here babysitting an idiot like me who doesn’t know any better."
Isaac raised a brow. "Then are you sure you’ll cooperate with the hospital’s treatment?"
"No shit! You really think I’m a little kid?"
"Alright then." Isaac was finally at ease and said, "If anything comes up, call me anytime. I’m going to get back to work."
"Hurry up and go, hurry up and go, I’m going to get some rest too."
Isaac gave a small nod, turned, and left.
Julian closed his eyes, listening to the sounds outside.
When the footsteps completely faded away, he suddenly opened his eyes, his gaze landing on the wheelchair by the bed.
They’d actually prepared a wheelchair for him—he’d had heart surgery, it wasn’t like his legs were useless.
Julian curled his lip, pressed lightly against his wound, and struggled to get out of bed.
He opened the door and, taking advantage of the fact that no one was paying attention, walked quickly toward the stairs.
Just a few short flights, but it took Julian a full ten-plus minutes to make it upstairs.
Summer Monroe...
He had no idea which ward Summer was in.
Just as Julian was planning to check room by room in secret, Ryder Quinn’s voice suddenly came from one of the wards: "I remember now! Pi is 3.18! Right?!"
Julian’s eyes lit up, and he hurried toward that ward.
Sure enough, he heard Summer’s voice from inside: "It’s 3.14... Ryder Quinn, if you’re really that idle, just go back. I’m fine lying here by myself."
"How could I? You’re this seriously ill, and Night’s not here either. If I leave too, you’ll be all alone."
Julian’s brows instantly knit together.
Seriously ill?
Thinking about it, the last time he saw her, she had looked a bit pale.
What exactly was wrong with her?
"Hey." A hand suddenly landed on Julian’s shoulder.
Julian turned his head and saw Isaac’s face, and he nearly jumped out of his skin.
"You, you..."
Isaac had just opened his mouth to speak when Julian reacted fast and clapped a hand over his mouth, lowering his voice as he said, "Don’t talk. Come downstairs with me."
...
Two minutes later.
Isaac looked at Julian, who was lying back on the hospital bed, utterly speechless. "You’re obviously that worried about her, yet you said you’d never drink the medicine she boiled for you. Julian Kingston, what is going on in that head of yours?"
"I..." Julian’s face flushed red with embarrassment and irritation. "None of your business! I’m just curious, that’s all. It’s not like I’m worried about her, you misunderstood!"
"If you’re just curious, then you don’t need to drag that half-dead body of yours upstairs. She only fainted from exhaustion. Once the IV’s done, she can go home."
"I already said I’m not interested in her. Why are you telling me all this?"
"Because your body is still very weak, and I’m worried you’ll sneak out again," Isaac sighed. "Forget it, do what you want. But my suggestion is, if you still want to be friends with her, it’d be better if you two had a proper talk."
Julian frowned. "I already said I’m not interested in her. How many times do you want me to repeat it? Me, Julian Kingston, being interested in a married woman? Once I’m discharged, I’ll immediately get myself a girlfriend and show you."
"You’d better." Isaac curled his lips and said, "Alright, I really have to go work now. Take good care of yourself."
On the other side.
Rivain.
