Chapter 694: Forces Lurking in the Shadows-1

Somewhere in a dark room, four people were having a secret meeting. It was an underground facility completely cut off from the world situated in the middle of the woods. They needed to be secretive because they knew better than anyone there was no such as privacy in this world.

" Why couldn't we have just met up in my office? It's not like anyone would suspect when we get together because of the nature of our cooperation?" One one them sighed. From the voice he appeared to be a middle age man still due to everyone's face being shrouded in darkness, no one could see each other's face.

" Don't you know they have eyes everywhere? We also have a new addition so you should respect his right to privacy." The man sitting in the middle added. He appeared to be the mediator both from the sitting arrangement and the tone of his voice.

" Ho ho, this old man didn't expect you would bring such dangers to our doorsteps. Don't you fear what would happen if he was a spy of from the family?" With a slightly husky tone, there was no need to guess the age of the man. He was the oldest among them and was rightly named as sly fox because how long he lasted inside this group.

He was the most cautious and sneaky old man that survived countless espionage and assassination attack from his enemies but still lived to tell the tale. If not for the importance of this meeting he wouldn't have come out of his hole.

" I know there has been a lot of rumours floating about me but I am only here as a replacement until I fulfill my objective. My foolish father refused to head my warning which led me to take matters into my own hands." He said in a respectful tone but it was clear he was looking down on them.

They could at most be considered the elders from the six families but he was a direct lineage meaning he had right to inherit the throne unlike them who only schemed behind the scenes to pick up bread crumbs!

If he didn't lose support from his family temporarily, he would never have accepted to meet these old fools. But he was sugar coating his words briefly until he achieved his objective.

" Why are you so worried old man? It's not like I didn't see the fifty elite soldiers that you brought with you. I don't even know how you manage to borrow them from your family. Aren't they elites that are stationed to protect the head of the family?" One of them said with a chuckle.

" Motherfucker!" The young man suddenly lost his cool. Samuel name seemed to be a trigger for him.

" You know him?" The mediator questioned. Others also noticed his lapse in judgement, especially old man who smiled. They were master manipulators and the young man had given them one of his weaknesses involuntarily.

" We had some dealings in the past." Young man immediately composed himself. He was aware how these old foxes operate, he wouldn't make the same mistake again.

" Isn't it more plausible that Rothschild family themselves had a hand in this? The six families have underestimated them long enough, they are not much worse when compared to them." he continued.

" Pff~ Hahahaha, youngsters these days knows how to joke around. No matter how much worms crawl and wiggle around they could never avoid being stomped out." One of them ridicules him for his absurd stance.

" That's where you are wrong, even an ant can kill an elephant if it tried. I don't know about you but I have personally met him. You are also forgetting they have close dealings with Morgan family and The British royal family." Old man surprisingly came to young man's rescue.

" Even then, they shouldn't be able to block the news so thoroughly. Is it one of the six family hiding their embarrassing defeat? But I have seen the head of that family, he didn't appear to particularly care of these minor issue."

" Right, they are also in a fierce succession battle. From the reports, the second received unexpected support from somewhere which made him come toe to toe with the leading contender. With their third young master out of the race because of this incident, I think we can expect a clear victor in few years." It was a good news for them.

They could lure in the unsuspecting victor to their side which would bolster their own forces up several notches.
