Chapter 584 Night Visit to the Cotton Mill
Chapter 584 Night Visit to the Cotton Mill
"Haoxuan, we've tracked them down." A-MOON took out his cell phone, dialed Ye Haoxuan's number, and reported in a low voice, "The remaining enemy has taken refuge in an abandoned cotton mill in the suburbs. There are guards at the gate. It looks like one of A-Le's strongholds."
At this moment, Ye Haoxuan had already received Xiao Fangting's report and was on his way to the construction site.
Upon hearing Moon's message, his eyes darkened: "Very good. You continue to keep watch discreetly and don't expose yourself. I'm going to the construction site now. After I've dealt with things here, I'll send someone over to find out the situation."
"Understood," A-MOON replied, putting away his cell phone and continuing to observe the activity in the abandoned factory.
At the construction site, Xiao Fangting had already organized the workers to start cleaning up the mess.
The injured masked man was tied up and left to await further instructions; the overturned materials were put back in order; and the damaged fence was reinforced by workers with temporary steel pipes.
Manager Li walked up to Xiao Fangting, his face full of admiration: "President Fang, we really owe you a lot just now. If you had panicked, the workers would have been in complete chaos, and the consequences would have been unimaginable."
Xiao Fangting smiled and wiped the sweat from her forehead: "It's what I should do. I'm sorry you and the workers were frightened. We will strengthen security and this will never happen again. We'll stop work for half a day this morning and give everyone a half-day off. Wages will be paid as usual. We'll resume normal work in the afternoon."
Upon hearing this, the workers were all relieved.
Their faces, which had initially been filled with fear, now showed gratitude, and they discussed, "Manager Fang is reliable," and "We feel at ease with such security..."
Xiao Fangting checked the damage with Manager Li again and breathed a sigh of relief after confirming that only a small amount of materials had been overturned and there was no major loss.
Just then, Ye Haoxuan's car drove into the construction site. He got out of the car and walked towards Xiao Fangting, asking, "Are you alright?"
He walked up to Xiao Fangting and hugged her.
Xiao Fangting said emotionally, "I'm fine, the construction site only suffered a small loss."
After finishing with this household, he handed over a list of losses. "Only three workers suffered minor injuries and have been taken to a nearby clinic for treatment. The material damage was minimal, the fence has been temporarily reinforced, and work can resume normally this afternoon."
Wang Jianjun walked over and said in a deep voice, "Brother Xuan, this group of people are here to disrupt the start of the project. They're not very skilled; they're probably thugs sent by Ah Le."
Ye Haoxuan took the list of losses, put it aside without even glancing at it, his eyes sharp:
"Moon has found their hideout, an abandoned cotton mill in the suburbs. It seems that Le can't hold back any longer and wants to give us a hard time."
He paused for a moment, then said to Wang Jianjun, "Bring five more brothers over to strengthen security at the construction site, especially at night. We absolutely cannot let our guard down."
Then he turned to Xiao Fangting and said, "Thank you for your hard work. Keep the workers calm and don't let the project's progress be delayed."
"Don't worry, Brother Xuan," Wang Jianjun nodded in response.
Xiao Fangting nodded, "Don't worry, I'm here."
As the sun rose higher, it dispelled the chill of the morning.
Order has been restored at the construction site. Although they had just experienced an attack, the workers' emotions have stabilized, and they believe that with tight security, their safety can be guaranteed.
Ye Haoxuan stood in the center of the construction site, gazing at the distant sea with a deep look in his eyes.
Ah Le's stronghold has been found, and it's time to take the initiative in this open and covert struggle.
He will no longer allow anyone to sabotage the construction of the seaside villa, nor will he allow anyone to harm those around him.
......
night.
The night was as dark as ink, spilled across the barren land on the outskirts of Hong Kong Island.
There were no streetlights, only a few scattered stars hanging in the sky, barely letting out a faint light.
The silhouette of the abandoned cotton mill stood menacingly in the darkness, its walls crumbling and peeling, its windows boarded up, leaving only a few dark holes like the eyes of a wild beast.
Ye Haoxuan and Tachibana Masahito were hidden in the bushes diagonally opposite the factory.
Both of them changed into dark night clothes, and their shoes were covered with thick cloth. They walked on the withered grass without making a sound.
Tachibana Masahito held a short sword in his hand, the scabbard of which was polished smooth; it was something he had carried with him for many years.
Ye Haoxuan held a modified high-powered flashlight, with most of the lens covered by a black cloth, leaving only a narrow slit for light to pass through.
"Moon, the sentry positions haven't changed?" Ye Haoxuan asked in a low voice into the miniature walkie-talkie in his collar.
“Nothing’s changed.” A MOON’s voice came through the earpiece, carrying the coolness of the night breeze. “There are two at the entrance, one at the southeast corner of the wall, and one at the northwest corner. They all change shifts every hour. There are three lights on in the factory building, one in the lobby on the first floor, one in the west warehouse, and one in a room on the second floor. That should be their temporary command post.”
She had been staking out the area all afternoon, getting a thorough understanding of the situation at the outpost.
Masahito Tachibana tilted his head slightly, his gaze sweeping over the factory entrance.
Two sentries were leaning against the doorframe, smoking, the red glow of their cigarettes flashing on and off. They were also talking in hushed tones, their voices full of impatience.
“Those on the outside are all small fry.” Tachibana Masahito’s voice was soft, with a hint of coldness. “The real experts should be inside guarding the goods.”
Ye Haoxuan nodded.
Ah Le set up his base in this godforsaken place; there must be something important hidden there.
Previously, Big D confessed that Ah Le and Lu Ke were doing arms deals, and this batch of goods was most likely hidden in the factory.
"I'll distract the sentries at the door. You go around to the southeast corner and take care of the lone one." Ye Haoxuan glanced at his luminous watch; the hands pointed to 10 p.m. "It's almost time for the shift change, so be quick."
"Okay." Tachibana Masahito replied, his body slightly arched, like a leopard poised to pounce.
Ye Haoxuan took a deep breath, took out a pebble from his pocket, and with a flick of his finger, the pebble cut through the night and landed precisely on an old locust tree outside the factory wall.
A soft "snap" sounded particularly clear in the quiet night.
The two sentries at the gate immediately became alert, casually tossing their cigarette butts on the ground and heading towards the old locust tree.
"Who goes there?" one of the sentries shouted, his voice tense. "Come out! Don't hide!"
The two walked hurriedly, getting further and further away, gradually approaching the old locust tree.
The opportunity is here.
Ye Haoxuan's eyes sharpened, and he whispered into the walkie-talkie, "Make your move."
No sooner had he finished speaking than Tachibana Masahito's figure darted out of the bushes like a black shadow. He hugged the base of the wall, his steps incredibly fast, and in the blink of an eye, he was at the southeast corner.
The sentry in the southeast corner was dozing off against the wall, the steel pipe in his hand dangling on the ground, his head nodding.
Without the slightest hesitation, Tachibana Masahito swiftly covered the sentry's mouth with his left hand, while his right hand drew his short sword with lightning speed, slamming the back of the blade into the sentry's neck.
The sentry didn't even have time to utter a sound before collapsing limply to the ground.
Tachibana Masahito swiftly dragged the person into the shadows at the base of the wall, picked up the steel pipe, and leaned it against the wall, pretending that the sentry was still on duty.
It was all done in one go, taking no more than ten seconds.
Ye Haoxuan wasn't idle either.
He saw two sentries circle around the old locust tree, find nothing unusual, and were about to turn back when he immediately took out a pebble and threw it at another tree.
