Chapter 170 Island Guardian
Chapter 170 Island Guardian
"Okay, let's keep going. We'll be there soon!" Su Siyi could only smile. She didn't want to make anyone worry about her anymore. Su Siyi's eyes were filled with determination. She knew she couldn't let anyone worry about her anymore.
Su Siyi nodded slightly, quickened her pace, and headed towards her destination.
"Let's go, we'll be there soon!" Nangong Jingming said. His voice was full of anticipation, as if he was excited about reaching his destination. Nangong Jingming raised the corners of his mouth slightly, revealing a confident smile that made people feel particularly at ease.
"By the way, didn't you say there was danger here? Why didn't I encounter any danger since I came in?" Su Siyi suddenly looked at you with some confusion and asked.
Her eyes were full of curiosity as she pondered the question in her heart. Su Siyi frowned slightly, as if trying to find the answer.
"Master, I don't know what happened. That time I came in, I was not only lost, but also suppressed by a very strong pressure." Dada said with a look of fear. This was the biggest crisis in his life! His eyes were full of fear, as if he was recalling that terrible experience. Dada lowered his head slightly, his body trembling slightly, which made people feel particularly distressed.
Su Siyi looked at the elder's frightened expression, and her doubts grew even more intense. She turned to look at Nangong Jingming and the Su brothers and asked, "What do you think is going on? Why aren't we in danger?" Nangong Jingming frowned slightly, and after a moment's thought, he said, "Perhaps there's some special reason why we haven't triggered the danger. Or perhaps we haven't yet reached the truly dangerous area."
Su Wenying continued, "No matter what, we must be cautious. This place is full of mysteries and we cannot take it lightly."
Su Wenxin nodded in agreement. "Yes, we should get to the check-in location as soon as possible and see if there are any clues there." The four of them continued on their way, remaining highly alert. As they got closer to the check-in location, the surroundings grew increasingly quiet, as if even the air had frozen.
Su Siyi felt uneasy. She gripped the electric baton tightly, ready to deal with any possible danger. Nangong Jingming also slowed down his pace, carefully observing the movements around him. Suddenly, Dada stopped and moved his ears, as if he had noticed something.
"Master, something's approaching," Dada said nervously. The four of them immediately stopped and looked around warily. However, they saw nothing, only silence.
"Master, are you sure something is approaching?" Su Siyi asked softly.
Dada nodded: "I can feel a strong aura."
"But I don't see anyone?" Su Siyi frowned slightly, her clear eyes filled with confusion. She and the other three stood back to back, looking around warily. Silence reigned, so still you could almost hear a silver needle drop to the ground. The eerie silence was unsettling.
What on earth was going on? They clearly heard the sound, but there was no one in sight, as if they were in a mysterious and eerie space.
"Who are you? Why are you here?" Suddenly, a deep male voice rang out. The voice seemed to come from all directions, making it difficult to determine its source. Su Siyi and the others were startled. They looked around nervously, but still saw no one.
"Who are you?" Nangong Jingming frowned, his eyes filled with confusion and vigilance. A strong sense of unease welled up in his heart. Since this person couldn't see, it meant potential danger. He subconsciously stood in front of Su Siyi, while Su Wenying and Su Wenxin also reacted quickly, protecting Su Siyi between the three of them.
"I'm the island guardian. How come you can enter the barrier?" the man asked doubtfully, a hint of surprise and confusion in his voice.
"We just walked in directly and didn't encounter the barrier you mentioned." Nangong Jingming answered truthfully. He was also full of doubts, wondering what the barrier this mysterious man was talking about was, and whether it was the barrier that the master had mentioned.
"Since you haven't encountered the barrier!" the man muttered to himself. His tone was filled with surprise and confusion, as if he had encountered something incredible.
"What's wrong with him? Why does he sound a little lost?" Su Siyi asked with some confusion.
"I don't know, but maybe something has made him sad." Nangong Jingming said. There was a hint of sympathy in his eyes. He didn't know what this island guard had been through, but his tone was so sad.
"Haha, we've hit no more barriers. Can we get out now?" The man suddenly burst into laughter, a laugh tinged with endless bitterness and resignation, as if a sorrow sealed by time had suddenly been released. The laughter lingered in the air, each note recounting an unknown story of vicissitudes, bringing with it an indescribable sadness. This laughter weighed like a heavy yoke on the hearts of Su Siyi and the others, further weighing down their already doubtful hearts.
"Um, Senior, can you please come out and see me?" Su Wenying stared into space, his tone filled with respect and anticipation. His voice was exceptionally clear in the silence, as if extending a sincere invitation to the mysterious unknown.
Almost instantly, the man suddenly appeared before them. His figure seemed to have emerged from thin air, carrying a mysterious aura. The man's face was slightly weathered, and his eyes revealed the depth and wisdom accumulated over the years. He quietly looked at the people before him, then slowly asked, "Which family are you from?"
"Senior, hello. We three siblings are descendants of the Su family, and this one is from the Nangong family." Although Su Wenxin didn't quite understand the man's question, he still honestly stated their surnames. There was a hint of awe in his tone, and his eyes were full of curiosity, as if he was anticipating the man's next reaction.
"The Su family, no, the Nangong family, does seem a bit…" The man's eyes darted back and forth between the several people, a hint of doubt in his eyes. He frowned slightly, as if trying to recall some distant past, those memories seemed to be obscured by the dust of time, requiring him to dig carefully.
