Chapter 198 The Only Witness
Chapter 198 The Only Witness
By the time Lilith and the others returned to the dormitory and said good night to each other, there were only more than two hours left until dawn.
However, three hours later, Catherine had changed into a simple black dress and appeared in the castle in high spirits.
"Just like we thought, that guy refused to admit anything and just said he knew nothing." Teacher Hurst looked tired and had stubble on his face, obviously he had not slept all night.
Catherine nodded, not surprised at the result. If she wasn't mentally strong, how could she have planned such a thing without revealing anything?
"Without evidence, we cannot punish a student arbitrarily based on Lucas's words alone. I hope you understand, Catherine." Teacher Rebecca said in a deep voice.
"I understand, teacher." Catherine wondered if there was any other evidence...
"There is one more thing I think I need to tell you." Teacher Wolfe stood by the door of his office and yawned. At the dance yesterday, he wore a white dress to show off, but now it was covered with black ashes and there were many signs of burns.
Catherine turned and looked over.
"Last night, I went to the shop that Lucas mentioned with the security team. That person is indeed suspicious..."
That black-hearted pharmacist wore a hood even in his room late at night. When he heard the knock on the door, he just looked out through the glass window in front of the window to see who was coming, then turned around and ran away.
The security team immediately broke down the door and tried to give chase, but were greeted by an explosion.
He actually blew up his own store!
Wolfe stood up in the billowing smoke, vaguely saw the familiar light flickering in the innermost part, and shouted -
"There's a teleportation array! He's trying to escape!"
After saying that, he rushed in regardless of the raging fire and black smoke, and passed through the teleportation formation one after another with the pharmacist.
But after that——
"He was teleported to High Court and caused quite a commotion," said Teacher Wolfe in a deep voice. "I lost track of him there."
Catherine's heart skipped a beat. That pharmacist had gone to Highgarden and successfully concealed his tracks?
"It's not easy for us to find people in that kind of place. Let's not talk about those guys from the Magician's Guild." Wolf sighed helplessly, "So, maybe I need your help, Princess."
"I understand." Catherine nodded solemnly. "I will pay attention to the investigation during this holiday, and I will also ask my father for help."
"Just try your best. It's okay if you can't find it." Rebecca patted the girl's shoulder, fearing that she would feel pressured. "He will reveal his true colors eventually. Wolfe saw his face. He will definitely not dare to come to Goletia again in the short term."
"Thank you for your trouble and hard work, teachers." Catherine lifted her skirt and bowed to each of the teachers who had been busy all night to express her gratitude.
"It seems that this is the only way for now. I will pay more attention to Daniel in the future. Maybe I can borrow a shadow monster from Terra to follow it..." Hester rubbed his face and stood up, looking at Catherine with appreciation, "You did a good job this time."
Maybe she will be a good commander in the future.
Catherine said nothing and bowed to him again. Then the teachers left. Fortunately, today was Sunday and they still had time to catch up on some sleep.
After leaving Catherine alone to think for a moment, she headed towards the guardian's dormitory.
……
The air is fresh and pleasant in the early morning of the weekend. The whole school experienced a carnival last night, and not many people got up early.
Catherine said good morning only to a few people along the way.
Fortunately, the person she was looking for had woken up and was living a fulfilling life.
"Can you really read palms? Then guess where I'm from?"
Under the albizzia tree full of pink pompom-like flowers, the strange girl boldly put her hand into the handsome boy's hand and asked with a smile.
"Of course it's on the moon." Neller gently held the delicate hand in front of him and looked into her eyes until the girl's face turned red with shame. "Otherwise, I can't imagine where such a beautiful girl can be nurtured. You must be kissed on the cheek by the Dark Moon Goddess every night before you fall asleep."
"Oh...you're so annoying." The girl was obviously a devout believer in light. She didn't care about much at this moment and just lost herself in the praises.
Catherine watched the scene in front of her quietly. She didn't know what Neller whispered again. The girl laughed and patted his chest, and he also laughed softly. Then he seemed to suddenly feel something and looked in Catherine's direction.
He lowered his head, not knowing what he said to the girl in front of him. The girl looked in Catherine's direction, bowed from a distance, and left obediently.
"Angie will be sad." Catherine frowned and looked at the boy who was approaching, not understanding why he wanted to mess with so many girls at the same time.
"It doesn't matter, I'm Neva now." Neller didn't care. In fact, the girl did think he was her and came up to him before she could tell who he was. He was just killing time.
Catherine's frown deepened.
"Are you jealous, Your Highness?" The beating he received yesterday did not teach him a lesson. Seeing Catherine's expression, he still smiled brightly.
"You have to get used to it soon. Isn't this how royal marriages are always? Of course, don't worry, I won't control you anymore. You can all have fun on your own, just like your king and queen—"
"You know what Daniel did, right?" Catherine didn't want to act recklessly like she did yesterday, nor did she want to listen to him talk about the dirty things in the royal family, so she interrupted him and asked directly the purpose of his trip.
"Oh..." Neller pretended to understand something, and then looked curious, "How is Miss Lilith? I miss her very much."
He really knew... Catherine didn't say anything.
"Let me guess, you need a witness." Neller's eyes were full of pride, and he walked forward with his hands behind his back.
Catherine gritted her teeth and chose to lift her skirt to keep up.
"Ah, this is the first time we've taken a walk together, Catherine, and the first time I've ever felt that the morning in Golletia is so beautiful!"
"What do you know about his plan? Where did he buy the things? Did Angie know about it? Did she tell you anything?"
"Angie? What secrets can that silly girl hide? If she knew, wouldn't you have known it long ago?" Neill giggled and looked at Catherine as if she were a little fool.
Then he pointed at himself and said seductively, "Only I know, Catherine, only me."
"Then are you willing to testify for me—"
"Catherine." Neller sighed, moved closer, looked down at the girl in front of him, and then bravely took her hand.
Catherine pursed her lips and clenched her fists, but did not shake him off.
Neller's eyes moved, full of malicious scrutiny and calculation. "If you want to ask for help, you should have the attitude of asking for help. What are you willing to pay for this? For example--"
"thump!"
At this time they had reached the lakeside, and suddenly a leg stretched out from the side and kicked Nerler into the Mirror Lake on the side.
"Please!" Lilith shouted angrily as she came running over.
