The journey through the heavens begins with saving the Great Kindness Tree King

Chapter 243 Storytelling

Chapter 243 Storytelling

On National Day, we introduce great people.

Su Qiankun specially showed everyone some movies about great men.

It also tells some other stories that happened during the Red Army's Long March besides the Four Crossings of the Chishui River.

These stories were so touching that soon after everyone listened to them, the tissues on the table piled up into a small mountain.

This is the route of the Red Army's Long March.

Ruijin → break through the enemy's four defense lines → force a crossing of the Wujiang River → occupy Zunyi → cross the Chishui River four times → cross the Jinsha River skillfully → force a crossing of the Dadu River → seize the Luding Bridge → climb over the snow-capped mountains → cross the grasslands → meet in Wuqi, Shaanxi (October 1935) → meet in Huining, Gansu (October 10), announcing the successful end of the Long March.

Jiajin Mountain is located in the eastern part of Xiaojin County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, 27 kilometers away from the county seat. It is a branch of the Qionglai Mountains and has an altitude of 4114 meters.

It is famous for its snow scenery. Snow often falls in summer, and the spring snow is the most spectacular. It was the first big snow mountain crossed by the Red Army.

One day in June 1935, the Red Army troops were advancing hard on the snow-capped mountains in the chaotic and misty snow, with howling winds and heavy snow.

The severe cold froze Yunzhong Mountain into a huge ice cellar, which seemed to be about to swallow up this poorly equipped team.

The general had given his horse to the seriously wounded. He led his men forward, clearing a path through the ice and snow for the follow-up troops.

What awaits them is a harsh environment and brutal battles. They may not have enough food to eat, may have to sleep in snow caves, may have to walk more than a hundred miles a day, and may be suddenly attacked by the enemy.

Can this team withstand such a severe test? The general pondered.

The team suddenly slowed down. There were a lot of people gathered in front, and no one knew what they were doing.

The general shouted as he walked: "Don't stop, move forward quickly!"

The general's guard came back and told him: "Someone froze to death ahead."

The general was stunned for a moment, said nothing, and walked forward quickly.

A frozen old soldier sat against a bare tree trunk, motionless, like a statue.

He was covered in snow and looked calm and natural, but his face was unrecognizable for a moment.

A half-smoked dry cigarette with paper wrapped around it was still sandwiched between the middle and index fingers of his right hand, but the fire had been extinguished by the wind and snow.

He stretched out his hand slightly, as if to ask his comrade for a lighter. His thin, worn clothes clung to his body.

The general's face was suddenly filled with dark clouds, and the muscles at the corners of his mouth twitched noticeably. He suddenly turned his head and shouted to the people around him: "Call the quartermaster! I ......"

A gust of snow swallowed up his words. His eyes were red, like an angry lion, and he looked very scary.

No one answered him, and no one walked away...

"Did you hear that? Guard! Hurry up and tell the quartermaster to run over here!" The muscles on the general's cheeks were shaking violently, and it was unclear whether it was due to the cold or anger.

At this time, someone whispered to the general: "He is the quartermaster general..."

The general was stunned and stood in the snow for a long time.

Snowflakes fell silently on his face, melting into sparkling tears, and his eyes became moist.

He took a deep breath, slowly raised his right hand to his eyebrows, and saluted the quartermaster who had become one with Yun Zhongshan.

The wind was getting stronger and the snow was getting heavier. The heavy snow soon covered the body of the quartermaster, and he turned into a crystal monument.

The general said nothing and strode into the snow.

He heard countless heavy and firm footsteps, and the sound seemed to tell people: If victory does not belong to such a team, who else will it belong to?

During the Red Army's crossing of Jiajin Mountain, the kitchen team became a special existence.

Although they seem to have the most sufficient food, they have to solve the problem of food and clothing for the soldiers in the combat troops.

In order to light a fire as quickly as possible to cook for the soldiers, Lao Qian, the squad leader of the kitchen squad, repeatedly took out the few cotton pieces from his cotton-padded jacket to ignite the wet firewood.

Finally, he collapsed in the wind and snow, and the worn cotton coat had long been hollowed out.

The big rocket launcher carried a heavy stone mill on his back and worked hard to ensure that the soldiers could eat barley flour.

Tangdou is the youngest cook. He is only 16 years old and a little kid with a sweet tooth.

Very thin, but always full of energy. The soldiers were walking hard on the endless snowy mountains. Food was scarce, and the kitchen team worked hard to prepare food for everyone.

Although Tangdou was hungry himself, he always gave his share of rations to his comrades who needed it more.

He also lied to everyone that he had candy to eat, but in fact his so-called "candy" was just candy wrappers wrapped around stones.

In order to ensure that the soldiers could eat highland barley flour, Tangdou struggled forward every day carrying a heavy stone mill on his back.

During a march, Tangdou gradually fell behind. When other soldiers found him, he was already sitting quietly in the snow, without breathing, and holding the "candy" tightly in his hand...

The grasslands that the Red Army crossed were mainly in the Ruoergai area in northwest Sichuan.

This story happened when the Red Fourth Front Army entered the Songpan grassland.

The Songpan grassland stretches over 300 kilometers, with an altitude of more than 3500 meters. The so-called climbing snow-capped mountains and crossing grasslands means that there is no one in the mountains, swamps, no food or water, and you have to endure bombing and pursuit.

Because they were sick and could not keep up with the team, the instructor asked the old squad leader to take care of three sick people.

The three patients had difficulty walking and could only walk about twenty miles a day.

The old squad leader led them to walk for a while and rest for a while, while looking for wild vegetables and digging grass roots everywhere to fill their stomachs.

However, in less than half a month, the two bags of barley flour were finished and hunger was a serious threat to them.

One day, when the old squad leader was washing clothes by a pond, he saw a fish jumping out of the water.

He was overjoyed and used a sewing needle that he burned red, bent it into a fishing hook, and successfully caught a fish.

From then on, they could eat fresh fish soup every day, which tasted extremely delicious even though it had no seasoning.

The old squad leader always tried to camp in a place with a pond so that he could catch fish for them every day.

However, even though they had access to fish every day, the old squad leader himself had never eaten any fish.

He ate leftover fish bones and grass roots.

When asked why he didn't eat fish, he always used the excuse that he had already eaten it.

In fact, he couldn't sleep all night and became even thinner than them.

As they gradually approached the edge of the grassland, the old squad leader fainted by the pond due to long-term fatigue and hunger.

When he was rescued, he was already dying. He asked them not to waste anything, drank the fish soup and walked out of the grass.

However, before he could finish his words, his hands dropped.

In fact, there are many such stories, including the Anti-Japanese War, the Liberation War, and the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea...

In a word, it is because of the faith of our ancestors who sacrificed their lives and blood that one generation was spared the suffering of three generations, and that our motherland is what it is today.

Tribute to them!
